Joking aside ... what if watching the crews dreams David learns (picks up) a sh!t load of stuff over the 2 years of travel ... and so DOES, in some way, performs differently from what he's been programmed to do? ... you only know these from experience and learning's right? ... he could be doing this through the crews dream experiences? ... he could be learning a lot actually ... and this could create a completely different David? ... could be a cause for change of Agenda? ... but what an experience that would be though, in real terms ... watching peoples dreams of their whole life ... THAT would get ya hooked and those 2yrs would pass quickly ...

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2012 10:09 AMInteresting thought. To bring some of the ideas posed from another similar thread, David is one of the first robots...created even before Ash...so who knows what kinds of bugs/tics there will be in such a complicating "OS".
I agree it would be very interesting to peek into people's dreams, and a lot could definitely be learned.

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2012 11:44 AMDavid8 represents the technology of human-like androids before it gets out and is exploited by other corporate entities with different, darker agendas. Like the almost homicidal programming of Ash, pretty much a perversion of what David8 represents.

MemberOvomorphMay-04-2012 9:04 AMAre we completely sure that David has the ability to see into people's dreams? Seems like a pretty fundamental assumption that that's what he is doing. That would also be a pretty huge deal from a mission planning perspective. I can't see someone who designed the mission being OK with letting David monitor the crew's dreams during the journey. What would be the point? Who would be OK with this? Just seems like a really bad idea to start with.
