MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 9:24 PMI entered this phrase into the search and it did not show up, but did not one of the female crewmwmbers say she was killed off in the first 28 minutes, "eaten by skeletons or skeletal beings? Does this not intrigue you, as we see plenty of blue men (muscular and Adonis like) and squidlile beings, even mutations among crew members, but the scene of the merc or crew member in either the alien temple or spacecraft firing at what appears to be a approaching something (blue man) with a hand in the frame as the woman looks petrified is more disturbing to me than c- sections mutating humans, eels et-al. And the stacks of skeletal like bodies laid against the wall are making me think that may be they were just waiting for some nutrition to wake up from their mummified state. The only thing I have not seen in the trailers are skeletal beings in action, Any thoughts of what her fate is or how her death related to the we were so wrong. I wonder if she is in another temple independant of Shaw, David, Holloway enduring other horrors or beings.

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 9:40 PMeven if it wasn't manufactured, you could use simple deduction to figure out it was a lie that she only lived 28 minutes.
She appears next to Weyland in the scene where he exits with his bodyguards shooting their pistols.

You're right karstenphd, that still with Kate Dickie looking up in awe at
something deliciously unseen has my imagination working overtime andis rife with possibilites..
I envisage those tall men will have some aspect which will invoke a marrow-freezing terror in the characters and audience alike.

MemberOvomorphApr-18-2012 4:12 PMI believe the exact quote was something like chased through the corridors by "skeletal monstrosities" and that she was killed in the first 22 minutes, but that she hoped it would still launch her career. I thought it had a full interview and was done by a newspaper in her hometown.

We already know that at least 12 minutes of the film have been premiered and that those 12 minutes all take place before the Prometheus even lands on LV-223. So assuming that the Prometheus lands on LV -223 at the 00:12:01 time mark of the movie, that means Katie's character would die within 10 minutes.
I know the movie's only two hours long, but that seems kind of quick. If she was actually interviewed, maybe what she said is that she's only in the movie for 22 minutes total...(not the first 22 minutes).
Edit: To further back up my theory above...think about it. When this interview was conducted there was no way for Katie to know how long her character would be in the movie before she dies since there was no final cut of the film yet. At that point I'm sure Ridley didn't even know how long the movie would be since editing wasn't complete.

It does not refer to skeletal beings exactly, but it says " Spoilers ahead, read at your own discrestion" and then explains her role and her demise! Wow! Thanks guys.

She did say that about her character to a reporter at an earlier press conference, and the press has pretty much left her alone. But I'm pretty sure that's bogus. They would not allow her to release a plot element like that; IF or WHEN she dies in the film. An obvious ruse, I think.

MemberOvomorphApr-18-2012 4:20 PMIm thinking she probably caught some shit from Ripley for that interview for blurting out a spoiler... But wasn't this sort of revealed anyway with the trailer clip showing a GIANT "Jockey" like arm and hand lashing out and killing the crewman next to her??
I love this image though as it sort of confirms that the "Jockey" and the "Blue Meanie" are two very different things, and that we will be seeing at least a couple of LIFE SIZE "Exoskeletal Elepant Men" causing mayhem!!

MemberOvomorphApr-18-2012 4:26 PMThanks for the input, with me obsessing over the space jockey and original alien since it's release ( yes, I still have nightmares where I'm in some cavernous place like what is being shown in Prometheus, a red glow in the distance, barely escaping aliens via ducts and tunnels ). I am trying to have fun with the speculations on the forum and have found out in the past, due to the secrecy behind the film ( Thank God! ) not to focus on what the director and crew are saying (or showing ), but not saying (or showing ). I havn't been this stoked in a long time.
