MemberOvomorphApr-12-2012 2:15 AMI am not into CG, but my common sense tells me that even though the render might be great, the reflection is totally wrong.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

MemberOvomorphApr-12-2012 2:19 AMi was looking at the faded reflection too,
this upload doesn't allow for as close an inspection
but i was looking at it, and at first glance,
it appears to be correct, but looking closer...it's kinda, i dunno - - odd
in any case, it made my heart race. guess great design gets me pumped

MemberOvomorphApr-12-2012 2:24 AMlooked at the HI RES version,
it's actually a sketch, possibly Photoshop mastery
the hand drawn details can be seen when i zoomed in.
or...perhaps it's a 3D render, that has a sketch overlay added
badass....

MemberOvomorphApr-12-2012 2:28 AM III like it, immensely after all most of the images have background that distracts us from further detail not to mention views generally from a distance so this close up ain't so bad. You can be sure more will come and we will begin to enjoy further into ridley's realm his view of space fairing vessels and how they look he is the final word on it's....
look and function. Damn that's one hot looking vehicle!!!!

MemberOvomorphApr-12-2012 2:34 AMthis is a FU__EN concept drawing. Shadows, or reflections are used as an anchor to separate 3D model from blank white background.

MemberOvomorphApr-12-2012 2:39 AMThe reflection planes and the shadows have been manipulated to make it stand against the neutral background, but my question is: is the real reflection/shadow so distracting that they need to spend additional time to edit it?

MemberOvomorphApr-12-2012 4:49 AMthe shadow is reflected right, its ust against the white background, it tricks the eye a bit..

MemberOvomorphApr-12-2012 5:08 AMShadow or reflection?
The shadow can be right, the reflection is a mess.

MemberOvomorphApr-12-2012 6:40 AMI believe the CG , in film, will emulate the CG in the movie Minority Report. Slightly fuzzy ...

MemberOvomorphApr-12-2012 6:41 AMi'm with you on that Biomechanic, i scrutinize, that is my nature,

MemberOvomorphApr-12-2012 6:51 AMAnd who told you I am not having fun?
The fact that the reflection is wrong is not important as to the message it conveys, but it's fun to spot errors.
I simply don't understand why people deny the fact that it is wrong! ;)

MemberOvomorphApr-12-2012 7:38 AMI am sure a model of the Prometheus will be eventually produced, it's just so good.
It will just be a matter of finding it in the store, it will probably be buried under piles of Millennium Falcons, X-Wings & co. :D
