and i was wondering how many of you will care to buy the novelization
of PROMETHEUS should one happen to come out sometime before,
or sometime after the film is finally released
i myself have read the novelizations ALIEN / "Aliens" / Alien3,
and i plan on doing the same for PROMETHEUS should it get this treatment
if they do put out a PROMETHEUS audio book on iTunes,
i will happily purchase that one. anyone else here interested in experiencing
PROMETHEUS in book form, whether it'd be paperback or audio...?
(if this had already been discussed, block my this thread)

MemberOvomorphApr-09-2012 4:19 PMI would because I read books more often than I watch movies or TV. I just hope it isn't to soon before the movie. I think books are released a month or a couple weeks before a theatrical release sometimes.

on both hands, 3 of which have all been ALIEN related, but i will say that i have
read thousands and thousands of graphic books, so i am hoping there is
a balance in that regard
i read "Aliens" 24 hours before i saw the film, same with Alien3.
which i think lent itself to be being severely disappointed in both of those films
i think i will wait until after i've seen PROMETHEUS
to experience the novelization, i don't want to spoil it for myself

MemberOvomorphApr-09-2012 4:29 PMI read a ton, which is good and bad for something like this. I love to read, but years of reading recreationally has made it harder for me to read poorly written material.
I'd love to read a well-written version of this movie, but I doubt a talented science fiction writer, or fiction writer, would do it. Do great authors do stuff like this? I guess I'm not familiar with post-script novelizations. I know 2001 was written at the same time as the script, but that was Kubrick and Clarke.

MemberOvomorphApr-09-2012 4:41 PMyeah, 2001 isn't like modern novelizations. I read AVP before it came to the big screen and actually was excited because on paper the story is kind of cool but it just went horribly wrong somewhere. : (
I can't name an author that is well known that has written a movie novelization, but just because I can't remember one right now dosn't mean it hasn't happened.

the last book i read was the da vinci code
but talking tape or audio books love them normally have one on the go
so if prometheus come out as an audio book it would deffenatly be on my buy list !

Read it after seeing the film,my first rated-R film.Scared the crap out of me.As a matter of fact,I remember my smart-ass blamed the film for why I got high after getting caught smoking weed a few years later.Mom and Dad didn't buy it.

MemberOvomorphApr-09-2012 5:27 PMIn the Alien franchise, I've only read the first novelization and enjoyed it. Regarding Prometheus, it all depends on how much I enjoy the film and if I think a novel would help to clarify "foggy" (if any) aspects.

I love dark Sci-fi, so this has turned into my new favorite movie, heh. I agree about Alan Dean Foster. I'm a big Riddick fan and he wrote the novelization for Chronicles and it's quite good. A novelization would be the perfect way to fill in the gaps for those of us who want to know more.
