Apollo
MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 10:23 AMI noticed that before, but well done for bringing it to light. I am so baffled by all of this. Maybe Ridley is trying to throw us off course. It is blowing me away.

MemberFacehuggerMar-23-2012 10:26 AMIt's not bothering me. I'm just curious. Playing "Sherlock Holmes" has been fun and besides, it will be nice to be surprised by things if they are in fact trying to throw us off course. :-)

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 10:27 AMWell spotted, indeed its messed my head up trying to work this out.

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 10:27 AMhmmm curious.I see what you mean...does appear less mutated in the stills than in the moving clip
Pvt. Hudson
MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 10:28 AMIn the moving clip there is CLEARY a non-human looking hand on the end of that elongated arm. It has long fingers (3-4 of them) ... watch as the hand comes off the back of the person being thrown.

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 10:29 AMLooking at it again....I reckon it's just the angles the shots were taken.

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 10:31 AMThis is (for me) the first glimpse of something "Alienesque". Bulbous head, long creepy fingers, super strength, etc. This beast is familiar and yet, quite different! I'm more excited by the minute. It also appears to be fighting while on fire. How bad@$$! Scary!

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 10:33 AMcan be alot of things ... maybe one have a bit more post processing cgi .

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 10:35 AMnice catch.
like you say, must be the scene wasn't finished yet and they figured nobody would notice. Has any movie had every single frame dissected in every trailer and teaser like this one? None that I can think of. it's pretty remarkable

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 10:42 AMMaybe it was a fire proof suit for the fire effect and was digitally edited to be the mutant man later. Seems it would be easier just to add digital fire though but Ridley doesn't like those expensive "repair bills"

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 10:43 AMI think it may simply be a confrontation between one of the crew and the android which we know does possess super-human strength.
Perhaps the android begins to go 'a bit twitchy' (they've been known for this) ;-)

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 10:48 AMJust a minor point but in the animated image, if you look at the alien crotch (don't know why I was focussing there) at one point it looks very xeno to me, definately as if crew member is mutating into the 'perfect weapon'
I think the differences we're picking up here between versions may (as well as pre-production CGI) indicate rapid mutation too?

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 11:01 AMI've just compared the same scene side by side (Full International trailer Vs IMAX), and the IMAX version is definitely a different camera angle, and the "mutated" guy's legs are much closer together than the same scene for the International (which you can see from the pics/GIF above), maybe a different "take" was used? Makes no odds though, I'm just being pedantic : )

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 11:03 AMYeah I think that is THE pre-Xeno creature we've been discussing on here. . .

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 11:50 AMGood eye! Here's what I think. In the still photos, the aggressor's right arm is shorter and his head is different. In the animated shot, his arms are definitely not human. In another discussion, it was brought up that the chair "joining" with the occupant was kinda bland looking. I think these shots are raw or untreated footage and haven't had the VFX added yet. They are still in post production, right? My 2 cents.
Edit:
Sorry, i'm being redundant here, got too excited and posted before I finished reading the posts before mine. Ha, this movie is definitely getting me spun up!

MemberFacehuggerMar-23-2012 12:12 PMI thought they were different camera angles from the start, but the differences in the character (head, arms, hand) were what got me wondering. Maybe it is just untreated footage. Regardless, with 2 1/2 months go and all the talking I do about this movie and the time I spend on this forum, I hope my sanity (and marriage) holds up. :-)

MemberOvomorphMar-23-2012 12:13 PMNice catch! Maybe the "xeno" is the R version and the "mutant" is the PG-13 version. I highly dought it but you never know. I think they know what they are doing or the Zeno was a mistake to release that scene. They do know what they are doing.
