Here's a possible outline for a sequel to Alien Resurrection. I'll release it in parts, so as not to swamp you with it all at once... P.S. Wait for the reveals and the twist at the end. Examining the tattered clothes on the refugees dead body they uncover a military USM uniform, the name badge states "Di Stephano". Meanwhile, a hooded figure mingles among the crowd of a bustling market selling scrap metal, contaminated fruit and veg, and grilled rats. At one of the stalls the hooded figure picks up a jerrycan with the word "MILK" scratched on it and throws two packs of cigarettes to the stalls owner, whom nods in acceptance. The hooded figure tilts back their head as they guzzle down the curdling milk, their hood dropping to reveal Annalee Call. Elsewhere, A scrap parts assembled motorbike pulls up outside a western style saloon, spluttering to a stop. The rider, draped in many layers of wornout clothes dsimounts his ride and enters the saloon, sitting at the bar. The bartender pours him a glass of dirty water, filled with sediment, and an oil film resting on the surface. The Rider, his hood up, places a six shooter pistol on the bar, spins it and pushes it towards the bartender. The bartender takes the pistol and the glass, returning with a clean glass of bourbon. The Rider gulps down the bourbon before lowering his hood and asking the bartender in a raspy, deep voice "I need a mechanic." The Rider is revealed to be Johner. The Bartender replies "Up the road, but watch it he's expensive." Johner leaving the saloon walks up the road to the double doors of the mechanics garage, a painted sign "Grease Monkey". Johner tries the man sized door to the garage and enters into the darkened interior, creaking on floorboards and banging into empty tins and jars. As Johner looks back towards the door he feels the unmistakable impression of a sawed off double barrel shotgun in his back. Rolling his eyes as if in disappointment, Johner spins round disarming his would be attacker, and turning their weapon against them. Overcome with shock Johner laughs hysterically, as his attacker, wheelchair bound Vriess also shocked exclaims "Johner?" Before their reunion can be celebrated in any way a team of masked and armed USM soldiers crash through the garages skylights, and almost effortlessly disarm and capture Vriess and Johner. In the doorway the silhouette of the soldiers commanding officer is seen, his longcoat waving in the breeze and a cigar held in his mouth. Back at the Market we see Call wiping her face and selling the jerrycan back to the stall owner, whom lets her have two partly rotten apples in return. As Call bites into one of the apples (placing the other in her pocket) she turns and sees a tall hooded figure exiting a building, looking to and fro cautiously. Call, raising her hood, immediately spurred into action follows the hooded figure from a distance through the market. Eventually the hooded figure realises they are being followed and quickens their pace, Call chases after them before losing them at a junction. Glancing back and forth Call looks for the hooded figure backing towards an alley way. A hand grabs Call and pulls her into the alley way, slams her against the wall and throws down her hood, before stepping back in surprise. The hooded figure drops their hood, revealing Ripley 8 "Call, you stupid bitch, what are you doing here?" Call, concern in her voice "Your in danger, Distephano, he...". Ripley, anxious now, cuts her off "I know, and you've just led them to me!" Call, confused exclaims "I wasn't followed. I know I -". Before Call can finish her sentence the now familiar masked and armed USM soldiers converge on the alley way. Ripley 8 and Call defend themselves as the soldiers attack using close quarters unarmed combat. Call is easily subdued, but Ripley is able to incapacitate two of the soldiers before also being subdued. Call and Ripley caught, the commanding officer steps into the scene, puffing on his cigar. To Ripley 8 "Well, well, well, I would've thought you'd go down harder than that Officer". Call, angry and struggling "Who the fuck are you?" The commanding officer, signals to his men with his free hand. As the soldiers use the butt of their guns to knock Call and Ripley 8 unconcious, the commanding officer replies "Your new master, bitch."

Okay lets continue... Through blurred vision Ripley 8 wakes to find herself chained and bound, unable to escape in any way. Stretching her eyes Ripley 8 cracks her neck and looks around at her surroundings and her company. She is prisoner within a cube shaped, metal box-like room with only one sealed door and many vents along the walls. Around her, their legs shackled but their arms free Ripley 8 realises she is reunited with old friends Annalee Call (shrugs apologetically), Vriess (smiles nervously in greeting) and Johner (winks callously). The room is filled with an awkward silence before Johner breaks the cold atmosphere "Man, I'm hungry," he then looks at the door and shouts "where's my grub?" Call, her hands free reaches into her pocket and throws the apple to Johner, in thanks he replies "Cheers, robo-chump." Call smiles sarcastically and unwantingly, watching as Johner bites into the apple. Immediately he spits the mouthful of rotting apple to the floor and looks at the apple to see maggots wriggling out from the core. Glaring at Call Johner throws the rotten, infested apple at her, but Call is able to dodge the bad fruit. The cell door opens, revealing the commanding officer responsible for their captures, again smoking a cigar but without his log coat, showing him to be a career-military type "Everyone comfortable?" Call replies venomously "Fuck you." The commanding officer, unphased "No thanks. Goodnight." The door shuts and the vents along the walls pour smoke into the cell. Ripley 8, calm as ever, feels the temperature drop in the room and realises as her friends start to drowse, that the cell is in fact a large cryo-storage room. Space, vast, black and glittered with stars. A small, but heavily armed spacecraft bearing the name "USM Raven" flies at speed towards a space station in orbit above a small planetoid. The Raven fires its retro thrusters to slow its approach as a large bay door opens on the exterior of the station. Entering within the Raven slowly approaches a landing pad, and settles down. A ramp descends from the side of the Raven and the commanding officer walks out meeting a scientist in a white coat "Dr. Charles, your lost property has been reacquired, as promised." Dr. Michael Charles, ever cautious "Any problems Major?" The commanding officer, Major Stephen Clancy "None. How's your experiment?" Dr. Charles, glaring at the Major for his bluntness "Flourishing flawlessly," and then almost gleefully "thanks to the Auriga's failure." Walking away from the Raven and entering deeper into the station the two reluctant colleagues continue their formal conversation. The Major "And hows our initial specimen?" Dr. Charles, surrendering to rank urges the Major down a corridor and towards a sealed door labeled RESTRICTED ACCESS "Bound, frozen but alive and under control." Entering the restricted room with the doctor the Major looks forward, proud "Good Doctor, very, very good!" In front of the Major and the Doctor is a fully grown Queen Alien, complete with ovipositor (in receipt of regular electric shocks) laying eggs onto an automatic conveyor belt. Her upper body frozen and bound in shackles, the Queens breathing is shallow and raspy, a digital 8 scarred onto her forehead.

Kinda Sparky, lets continue a bit more... Ripley 8, Call, Vriess and Johner are led through the corridors by more masked and armed USM soldiers before reaching their holding cell, a small box shaped room with a pair of bunk beds, one unclean toilet and a stale air smell throughout. Thrown in with the door sealed behind them the old crew of the Betty resign themselves to their new fate as Ripley 8 places her hand on the wall and stares off into nothingness, as though she can hear or sense something. Johner watches with bemusement, Call with quiet concern and Vriess with confusion as Ripley 8 then lies on the floor, placing her ear to the ground. Cautiously Ripley stands back up, a scowl having formed on her face, showing deep concern. Ripley looks left, looks right and sees an old computer panel on the wall, she approaches it. Vriess noticing the item of her interest “Its useless, centuries old. It won’t even be connected to any systems.” Shushing Vriess Ripley 8 pulls the panel from the wall and strokes it like it is an old friend. In its centre is a screen, the only few buttons and switches are placed below the screen. The panel doesn’t even have a keyboard. Ripley 8 again looks around before smirking in self-satisfaction, then a sudden sniff before quickly hiding the panel underneath a pillow. The cell door opens, revealing a group of masked, armed USM soldiers and the Doctor urging the four from their cell “Please, this way.” As the four friends are led through more corridors the Doctor watches Ripley 8 with wonder before asking, “Do you want me to take your coat? This facility is climatically controlled.” Ripley 8 looks down at her hooded longcoat before scowling at the Doctor “No thanks, I’m fine.” Johner, ever quick with a comment “You can take mine if you want to honey?” The doctor ignores the comment, much to Call and Vriess amusement and Johners annoyance. The four friends arrive with their escort to a large, brightly lit room with a large double retractable cylindrical door in the centre, closed, hiding its contents. Ripley 8 looks concerned, the other three just anxious. Coming down some steps towards them, the Major “Welcome to Galileo Station. Settling in okay are we?” an air of sarcasm in his voice. Vriess, beating Johner to it “No thanks to you Deputy Dick.” The Major laughs briefly, points at Vriess “Marcus Vriess, chief engineer of the pirate vessel the Betty, in a wheelchair since 2361, after cheating a smuggler out of some engine parts.” Vriess grimaces. The Major points at Johner “Richard Johner, mercenary, hitman and thug of the Betty. Abandoned by your mother at birth and raised by low lives. Served six years in Titan max security before escaping courtesy of your friend Christie. How is he?” Johner bites his lip. The Major points at Call “Annalee Call, an auton – synthetic created by synthetics. Assigned to terminate -” gestures towards Ripley 8 “instead destroys the USM Auriga. Tut, Tut.” Call scowls. And then the Major points at Ripley 8 “And then there’s you my dear. By-product of a wondrous specimen gathered and harnessed as the perfect organism, the perfect weapon.” Call, naïve and cocky “Which blew up with your precious ship, asshole.” The Major again laughs, this time genuinely “Stupid bitch, what you blew up was a waste product,” he gestures to an operator whom pulls a lever, slowly opening the large double doors “unwanted material, this is the true prize of our endeavours.” He points to the half frozen Queen Alien bound and forced to lay eggs. They all step back in horror, Ripley 8 raises her hand to the faded scar on her chest, and looks up at the 8 on the Queens forehead before glancing down at her covered wrist. “That’s right,” the Major explains, “This is the Queen we cut from you.” Looking at Call, “The Queen you destroyed on the Auriga was from a previous clone. Number 7.” Ripley 8 scowls at the Major. The Major, undeterred continues, “We here at the USM have harnessed and studied this wondrous creature.” Ripley 8 scoffs “Different name, same assholes.” The Major, looking straight at Ripley and smirks “You have no idea how right you are, Warrant Officer Ellen Jayne Ripley.” Ripley 8 becomes perplexed, “The Weyland-Yutani Corporation, your former employers were sold off nearly 50 years ago now. But only the name, the shell was sold.” Ripley 8, as though remembering something, looks at the Major as he notices her realisation. “That’s right, you remember. Weyland-Yutani in the years before their demise extended their influence throughout all elements, especially those related to science, the government and the military.” Ripley only replies with shock, as the Major nails the point home, “Then after the Paris event in 2327 Weyland-Yutani was in trouble and we severed ties with the company, standing on the boards and committees and tore it apart and sold it off, having already kept what was important.” Johner of course looks confused, but Call now realising the truth scowls at the Major as he builds up to his inevitable reveal. “Then we used our influence in the government and the military to call for change, removing power from the corporations and enforcing stability with a new military government, the USM. Which of course we control.” Ripley 8, her hatred evident in her deep breathing clarifies “The USM is a military government? The USM is Weyland-Yutani?” The Major, standing proud and arrogantly laughs “Yes. We are now in charge, and no longer need to answer to bureaucrats.”

Next installment... The Major, gleaming with pride motions Ripley 8 and the remaining crew of the Betty up the stairs he descended to meet them. They arrive in a room filled with many, many monitors. Each showing simulated dissections of each of the Aliens stages of their life cycle. At each monitor is a white coated technician analysing the information before them. The Doctor takes over, “The species you almost eradicated.” the Doctor gestures towards Ripley 8 and then to the monitors, “We have studied and analysed them in great detail.” The Doctor gestures towards a group of displays showing the atypical Alien, “Take this form, which we call the Drone. From this specimen we were able to deduce almost everything about the creatures biology.” He looks at Ripley 8, “Did you know that the creature is completely blind. By our standards anyway. They have no eyes, no visual receptors.” The Doctors turn to become proud, “They view their surroundings using a highly advanced form of echo location, highly acute hearing, they can pinpoint the origin of a smell and its composition, something they can also do regarding heat and electrical impulses. Truly wonderful.” The Doctor becomes almost entranced by the displays on the monitors. Ripley 8, playing devils advocate, “So they make up for their lack of sight?” “Hell no!” the Doctor exclaims, “If one was in a room with you it would deduce your location and state by sensing your outline, hearing your heartbeat, the blood pumping through your veins, the creaks of your muscles, the synaptic discharges from your brain, your body heat, your odour, everything. No matter what you do they can see without actually having to see you.” Call exclaims in horror, “My God!” The Major interjects “Not quite. But we know everything about them, and have them perfectly under control.” Ripley 8 scoffs, “You think you have them under control, but its - ” The Major interrupts, “We have them under control!” as he motions them to shutters which slowly retract upwards revealing a window. Gazing through the window Ripley 8, Call, Vriess and Johner look down on the planet below. The Doctor explains, “The planet below was once full of life, wild life, much like prehistoric Earth. The first eggs were taken down to the planet and allowed to propagate, and they have flourished beautifully. All remaining eggs our Queen produces are destroyed unless they contain something of worth.” Johner, his attention finally grabbed “Of worth?” The Major, “If the embryo being carried is of another Queen for example.” He looks down at the planet which the station orbits, “And down there, there are dozens of Queens, each ruling their hives as they slowly dominate the planet. Their potential as a weapon is unprecedented.” Ripley 8 steps back unsteadily, Call comes to her aid but she gently pushes her away before looking at the Major, tears forming in her eyes. “You’ve…you’ve won, you finally got what you wanted and learnt how to keep it?” Ripley 8 sorrowfully enquires, knowing the pain that such a weapon would weave. The Major, ignorant of emotions “Yes, and all thanks to you.” Ripley 8 looks towards the door and pleads “I need to go.” The Major signals to the masked, armed guards whom escort Ripley 8 and the Betty crew back to their cell, back past the imprisoned Queen. Ripley 8 looks at the rasping Queen and the Queen replies with a low, whispering moan of defeat. More to come...

Typing the next part as we speak, time for an increase in pace...

Gavin

MemberTrilobite01/8/2012
Time to step up the pace just a little bit, and add a reveal or two... Back in their cell one of masked, armed soldiers looks through the glass panel and switches off the lights of the cell, all the time looking at Ripley 8, lying on the lower bunk of one of the bunk beds. The lights out Ripley 8 breaths a sigh, a sigh of anguish, and closes her eyes. Dream Sequence Ripley 8 wakes to a gentle drizzle of rain falling on her face. Opening her eyes and leaning her head to the right Ripley sees she is lying on a bed of black stone and rock. Rising to her feet Ripley 8 wipes the rain from her face and looks at the small incline, small mound in front of her, obstructing her view of the horizon. Reaching the peak of the mound Ripley 8 looks towards the horizon in horror. Scattered throughout the dark, primordial landscape are large egg-shaped structures constructed of organic matter, scurrying over and among them the tell-tale silhouettes of Aliens, a few here, a few there. Stepping down from the mound Ripley 8 walks towards and among the large egg-shaped hives, Aliens watching her from atop and from within the tunnels leading into the hives. Walking tentatively forward, aware of the Aliens watching her, Ripley 8 walks towards and into a hive larger than the rest. Stepping through the mist and musk filled organic tunnels of the Hive, ever watched by the Aliens Ripley 8 gradually makes her way into the Hive’s nursery. Scattered on the ground are spent eggs and dead Facehuggers. Ripley 8, anxious and breathing rapidly turns round and sees the bowed head of a cocooned victim, their hair matted in slime. Fearful Ripley 8 raises the head of the victim, revealing Call. Calls eyes dart open, raspy breathed and in pain she pleads to Ripley 8 “Kill me!” Ripley 8 wakes from her nightmare with surprising calmness as the door to the cell is opened, awaking the crew of the Betty. A masked, armed soldier stands in the doorway gesturing them all out. Taking their cue Ripley 8, Call, Vriess and Johner are led to a large room, a gym, filled with exercise and sports equipment. Johner, no stranger to being a prisoner heads straight for a treadmill “Hey Vriess, want to go for a jog?” Johner laughs. “Fuck…you Johner” Replies Vriess, giving Johner the finger. Call, rising to Vriess' defense, “Johner, do you ever tire of being an asshole?” “The family toaster defending the cripple.” Johner retorts. Call sighs and looks over at Ripley 8, staring up at a security camera watching them. On the other end of the camera the Doctor and the Major watch the group, and especially Ripley 8 with interest. The Major, puffing on another cigar, asks the Doctor “How is she progressing Doctor?” The Doctor replies, “According to our scans, as expected.” “Is she aware, does she know?” The Major enquires exhaling smoke from his lungs. “If not, she will be very soon. But I suspect she may already have an inclination.” The Doctor theorises. Realisation dawns upon the Major, “The longcoat she refuses to remove?” “Indeed.” The Doctor agrees, “Indeed.” Back in the gym Johner picks up a basketball, “Hey Ripley, fancy a rematch. I’ll go easy on you this time.” Ripley 8 partly snaps out of her chance long enough to flash Johner a tentative smile. Johner hangs his shoulders, “You lot are no fun.” Johner, turns, basketball in hand, towards one of the masked, armed soldiers and throws the ball. The soldier, in a flash, drops his gun, hanging it from the strap over their shoulder and catches the ball perfectly. Johner cocks his head in bemusement. The soldier then throws the ball back to Johner so fast, and so forceful it knocks Johner onto the floor. Vriess and Call laugh at Johners misfortune, as Johner gets up clearly annoyed. Johner paces towards the soldier that felled him, “You want a piece of me?” The soldier stands firm, unflinching. Johner makes to walk away, but turns back swinging a punch at the soldier. The soldier without hesitation grabs Johners fist and and twists the wrist, forcing Johner to his knees. Johner in his surprise, “Son of a bitch!” The soldier releases Johners hand, letting him rise to his feet. Johner turns his wrist back and forth flinching in pain before punching the soldier in the face with his free hand, knocking off the soldier’s mask. The soldier turns back to face Johner, their freakish face grey in colour and devoid of skin, white arterial tubes pumping and pulsating white fluid to its facial muscles. Johner instantly realising the soldier as a synthetic breathes in surprise, “What the fuck?” The door to the gym opens, breaking up the moment, revealing the Major. “When you have finished aggravating my team of soldiers, I have something to show you.” Johner leading the way is followed by Ripley 8, Call and then Vriess, as the synthetic soldier puts its mask back in place.

Just One little comment; I like the idea of a Dream Sequence in which Ripley8 sees something that is not possible...I like it a lot, because dreams often do this, present things in an illogical format that we have to sort out afterwards for ourselves and what the hidden meaning is for us in our own lives. I thought that part of this section was Brilliant "Snorky"... There is a some kind of hidden meaning in Ripley8's dream there, because we all know Call is an Android and therefore No gestating can occur inside of her. Therefore there has to be more to that dream's meaning than meets the readers eyes and I absolutely Love that idea...There is something deeply symbolic in Ripley 8's dream that I am still thinking and wondering about... Very Cool Man !!! Very Cool Indeed!!!

Another installment to entertain you all... Back in the observation room Ripley 8 watches the Queen Alien with pity in her eyes. Call, Vriess and Johner watch her intently, silently concerned. The Doctor intersects, “She is in perfect health I can assure you, her upper body is frozen to prevent her from escaping and killing the crew of this station.” Call, recalling her experiences aboard the Auriga, “We know full well how dangerous them things are when they get loose.” The Doctor looks over his shoulder to receive permission from the Major before gesturing to one of the synthetic soldiers, “Ah, but do you know how beneficial they are when they are in captivity?” The synthetic soldier appears dragging a piece of apparatus next to the Doctor. The apparatus is a metal S shaped instrument suspended from a railtrack on the ceiling of the room, connected to the S shaped instrument are binds and grips seemingly to hold a human in place. Another synthetic soldier hands the Doctor a wide glass jar. The Doctor twists off the lid of the jar and scoops his hand into the viscous, slimy substance and gestures towards the group, “Do you know what this is?” Ripley 8 glances over to the Queens ovipositor producing another egg, the same slimy substance drooling from the ovipositor and the egg. The Doctor in confirmation, “Yes, it is a natural lubricant generated by the Queen during the process of egg-laying. We call it Royal Jelly.” Johner, keen to point out the lame naming convention, sarcastically “Cool name.” “Maybe not,” the Doctor picks up on Johners tone, “but the name is unimportant. Its properties however are astounding.” The doctor reveals twisting the lid back onto the jar and cleaning his hands with a handtowel. The Major, having been stood at the top of the steps to research room descends down and interrupts the Doctor before he has chance to continue, “Instead of explaining the benefits of this ‘Royal Jelly’, I think a demonstration would be more enlightening.” The Major signals to his small team of synthetic soldiers, two of which raise their guns towards the group as two more drag Vriess out of his wheelchair. Johner, showing rare but true compassion for his friend shouts “Put him down you assholes.” “Now, now,” The Major replies “Your friend will come to no real harm I assure you.” The two synthetic soldiers holding Vriess lift and secure him into the S shaped instrument, Binding his head, shoulders, wrists, torso and waist securely and tightly. Despite the groups, and especially Vriess’ objections the Doctor turns towards a nearby panel and flips open a plastic cover to a red plunger, before pressing firmly down on the plunger. In between Vriess’ back and the S shaped apparatus a series of needles stab into Vriess’ back, one after the other. Each needle followed by the depression of a plunger on the outside of the S shaped contraption. Vriess screams in agony, urging the rest of group to his aid but they are held firmly back by a group of synthetic soldiers. Vriess’ scream grows louder and more agonizing until the last plunger is depressed, at which point Vriess passes out from the pain. Call, horrified screams, “What have you bastards done to him? Get him down now!” “As you wish.” The Major steps forward and violently slaps Vriess across the face. Jolted awake Vriess breathes rapidly, confused. The Doctor pulls a lever on his panel, retracting the all of needles from Vriess’ spine simultaneously. Vriess flinches in reaction to the sharp pain. The two synthetic soldiers that placed Vriess into the apparatus unbind and then pull him down, resting Vriess’ feet on the ground while still supporting his weight. Calls anger building, “Put him down…NOW!” Gesturing towards the wheelchair. The Major ignores her gesture, “Of course.” He signals the two synthetic soldiers, who release Vriess where he stands. Call and Johner rush forward to catch Vriess before he falls to the ground, but as they near him they realise that Vriess is standing of his own accord, supporting his own weight. Ripley 8, astonished and amazed, “That’s impossible, how…” Her sentence trails off, unfinished. The Doctor, glad to explain, “The substance is used by the lower castes of the creatures order as a medicine, instantly healing wounds and scars.” He adjusts his glasses, “We have injected this substance into cancerous cells, and it eradicates them instantly. It can make blind eyes see again, heal a cripple.” he gestures as Vriess takes his first steps in many, many years, “This substance alone is worth millions, worth keeping this species alive for. Imagine the benefits to mankind.” The Doctor declares. Ripley 8, gesturing towards the Queen behind them, “And what of the creature itself? What are your plans for them?” The Majors turn to sell, “Their unique biology can give us lightweight and durable armour, their senses can help develop new communication technologies, but most of the creature itself will be harnessed and trained as the perfect biological weapon.” Ripley 8 scowls at the Major, “I knew it.” The Major sighs in impatience, “You will come to learn, in time, that your ‘return’ was for the benefit of all.” The Major signals the synthetic soldiers to take the group away, but as they begin to leave he adds, “Let them go where they please, within reason and under escort.” And then to the group directly, “You are guests, not prisoners.” Walking through the corridors Ripley 8 heads straight for the cell, the others pause and Call enquires after her, “Ripley?” Ripley 8 continues onward, Johner placing a hand on Calls shoulder in a rare moment of compassion, “Leave her.” He then gestures towards Vriess who is jumping up and down on his new found legs. Johner and Call laugh at their friend. Ripley 8 returns to the cell and closes the door behind her, two synthetic soldiers guarding her from outside. She reaches under her pillow and pulls out the old computer panel she hid there. Flicking a switch repeatedly she soon becomes aware the device has no power. Turning it over she examines a cover for the battery screwed tightly in place. Ripley 8 looks around for something to manipulate the screws and then stops. She raises one of her hands and looks at her nails, shining metallically in the low light. Gently tapping her nails against the metal post of the bunk beds she listens carefully to the “Ting, Ting” of metal striking metal. Bemused at her discovery Ripley 8 places the old panel on her bed and gently rubs one of her nails, feeling the undeniably texture of metal. Raising her head as she continues to rub one of her fingernails she ponders the possibilities, before looking back down at her finger. Intrigued and horrified she notices a thick layer of skin removed from her finger from her rubbing action, slimy drools signifying where the skin had once laid, and underneath a hard, dark new skin. Pulling the skin from her hand slowly at first, but with increasing haste, Ripley 8’s hidden fears that have plagued her for 15 years are finally realised. All the skin removed she looks at her hand, but instead of seeing the fleshy, light coloured hand of a human she sees the dark, biomechanical hand of an Alien.

Time to take a break, will add this and hopefully get to the climax of this tomorrow. Should give you all a chance to read it and post your comments (looks like Sparky's a fan already). BTW - I also have a more basic concept for a Predators2/Predator4.

Spartacus said - I like the idea of a Dream Sequence in which Ripley 8 sees something that is not possible...I like it a lot, because dreams often do this, present things in an illogical format that we have to sort out afterwards for ourselves and what the hidden meaning is for us in our own lives. Now see, this kinda sums up how I personally like to imagine the ridiculous ALIEN 3 and ALIEN RESURRECTION movies in the first place - as merely a couple of 'nightmarish dreams' that the 'actual' Ripley suffers during her hupersleep journey home at the end of ALIENS! But this speculative storyline would certainly have made for a decent movie follow-up to ALIEN RESURRECTION Snorkelbottom, and I'm keen to see how it all pans out. If this is your own work, then I'm very impressed with your writing/storytelling skills.

I am blown away by what you wrote "C" and it is the first plausible way I have ever seen or read of negating those 2 films. That said, I really Really like the extended cut of Alien 3. Thought most of it was remarkably better than the theatrical release. I admit I had issues with Resurrection as well, especially it's ending which I hated and that creature which I also hated, but I liked some of the other ideas it contained...some of them were highly original. I also Loved The Betty, just loved that ship. Loved the whole idea of an unregistered ship as well and a crew trying to survive on scraps. For me, and IMO, just to call yourself an ALIEN franchise fan, anyone that is, you have to have been able to find at least one thing to like in all 4 of those films!!!

Spartacus said - For me, and IMO, just to call yourself an ALIEN franchise fan, anyone that is, you have to have been able to find at least one thing to like in all 4 of those films!!! Well Spartacus, despite my mis-givings to do with ALIEN 3 and ALIEN RESURRECTION (no matter which cut), there's certainly still one or two things I *do* really like in these 2 movies,...especially Sigourney's ever-watchable performances. It's just that I'd rather watch these particular movies in a very different context in future, so that I can like them a little better...which is why I've been trying to do something about it recently. So I've decided to let you have a sneak preview of what I'm hoping to organise later this year - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTBYbhECyGA And I'll be contacting certain 'fan-editor's with a similar request concerning an alternative ALIEN RESURRECTION cut I've got in mind too...which would again show the 'actual' Ripley surviving the movie... But in the meantime, I'm certainly interested to find out what happens to Snorkelbottom's 'Ripley 8' character here... :)

Well here I have been lurking in the shadows since my horrific failure of a discovery in my Alien novel, just waiting for something to invoke me into logging in and saying something. And while there has been much that has tugged at me to jump in and say something (mostly upset and dissaproval, which I have succesfully stoped my self from doing), this here has made me absolutely have to jump into the converstion. Snork.... I have to do this... I am so sorry... ok, no I am not lol.... THIS IS ABSOLUTELY 100% BRILLIANT! OMG man, this would make an amazing movie. WOW WOW WOW, this just could (if it was done) single handedly save the franchise. Why you are sharing it here and not getting the copyright and sending it to the studios is beyond me. I just hope you do go forward with this in one way or another. Keep up the good work! I am looking forward to your next installment!

The plot thickens and the twists, they keep coming... Ripley 8’s attention is snapped back to immediate matters when the door to the cells suddenly opens. She quickly hides her hand in her longcoat pocket. As two synthetic soldiers wheel in Vriess’ wheelchair, Ripley 8 half smiles to herself, wondering whether Vriess is truly, permanently healed, or not. Looking at the wheel chair as the synthetic soldiers wheel it into place Ripley 8 smiles again, thinking of the powerless computer panel. The computer panel, laid on the bed in plain site. Standing up Ripley 8 distracts the synthetic soldiers as she escorts them to the door, “Do you have a pair of gloves I could borrow?” Sometime later, the corridors of the station are quiet, very quiet. Down one of the corridors a shuffling sound can be heard, which grabs the attention of one of the synthetic soldiers guarding the groups cell. The synthetic soldier looks at its partner before raising its weapon into the ready position and stepping silently towards the noise. The shuffling gets gradually louder and louder, becoming the fast flurry of footsteps. The synthetic soldier, flicks off the safety switch on his weapon and steps around the corner at a wide apex. Vriess comes belting down the corridor at full speed, barely missing the synthetic soldier and uses the wall to stop himself. He is clearly out of breath but the smile on his face reaches from ear to ear. Vriess, ecstatic at his new found freedom stretches his legs and jumps up and down on the spot as Call and Johner casually walk down the corridor to meet him, both laughing at their friend. Johner turns to Call, “You know, I think I preferred him wheels.” Call, rolling her eyes, “Leave him alone Johner,” looking at Vriess warmly, “I’ve never seen him so happy.” Johner, rubbing his shaved head, “Still, he carries on with this running and I’ll break his legs.” Call shakes her head. Despite their predicament it amazes her that Johner, as usual, seems his usual, crass self. Call looks at the synthetic soldier as it opens the door to their cell, behind them their escort waits, guns lowered. Call sighs, pondering why the Major said they were all guests, when they are obviously prisoners. Entering into the cell behind Vriess and Johner, the door closed her, Call laughs as Vriess jumps up onto the top of one of the bunk beds gleefully stating, “I call top bunk.” Johner sitting on the bunk below looks at the wheelchair, “Hey roadrunner, want your wheels back?” Vriess ignores him. Call too looks at the wheelchair and notices a panel at the back is open. Leaning over slightly she realises the battery has been removed. Looking over to the other bunk bed Call sees Ripley 8 transfixed on the old computer panel, flicking switches and pressing buttons furiously, her hands covered in shiny leather gloves. Gently sitting next to Ripley 8, Call looks over her shoulder, but Ripley 8 tilts the screen away from Call’s view. Curious, Call enquires, “Do you need a hand Ripley?” “No help. Not help.” Ripley 8 snaps, then mutters, “Not help. No. Not help.” Call, confused, “Okay, if you’re sure?” “Warning. Stay away.” Again, Ripley 8 snaps and then mutters rapidly, “Bad news. Not help. Need Help. Need to stay away. Wrong. So wrong. I was so wrong. No. It was so wrong.” She turns to call, tears in her eyes, “I’m so sorry.” Jolting Call, she snaps, “Stay away.” She returns to furiously tapping buttons and flicking switches. Call, clearly concerned turns to Johner and Vriess, the smiles wiped from their faces and replaced with frowns. Johner stands up and slowly walks towards Ripley 8, cautious not to startle her, “Ripley, you okay?” Snapping upright Ripley pins Johner to the wall, grabbing him by the neck with her free hand. She cocks her head to the left and then slowly cocks it to the right, and then slowly raises her head. Her face less than an inch from Johners, Ripley 8 slowly and seductively opens her mouth, leaving it agape momentarily. Suddenly she darts her tongue at Johner’s cheek and licks him. The sides of her tongue slightly ridged. Confused and fearful, instead of aroused Johner looks at her wide eyed, unable to speak. Ripley 8, releasing her grip, “You want to help me,” before Johner can reply she snaps “leave me alone!” Johner edgily retreats back to his bunk as Ripley 8 returns to her furious endeavours with the old computer panel, her repeated, nonsensical mutterings creating an unsettled atmosphere in the cell. In the observation room, as the Doctor compares notes and findings the Major stares at the Queen Alien, whom seems to be returning his gaze. Curious, the Major steps forward to the railing of the platform. The Queen whispers a cautionary hiss. The Major unphased lifts his cigar to his mouth and inhales, “After nearly 500 years we finally get what we set out to achieve, and we get no gratitude.” The Doctor, still engrossed in his work, “I don’t think she likes you very much?” “She doesn’t have to. She’s already given us the key to controlling her kind.” The Major replies callously, before asking “Are we ready for phase 3?” “Synthetic replication of her pheromones should be complete within…” The Doctor checks one of his displays, “…26 hours. Then once we’ve tested its effectiveness…” The Major concludes the sentence, “…We can then command them to do as we wish.” He looks again at the Queen, a grin forming on his face “Perfect. Absolutely perfect.”

The plot indeed thickens... @ Spartacus - I've tried several times to post a response here about your offer, but everytime it DIDN'T appear on the end of this topic, for some reason. Just to let you know that I'll try again at some point when I've more time, and hopefully this short post will appear this time!
“Warning. Stay away.” Again, Ripley 8 snaps and then mutters rapidly, “Bad news. Not help. Need Help. Need to stay away. Wrong. So wrong. I was so wrong. It is better, as well, by far, than any one single idea that was filmed for "Resurrection"... HOWEVER... You have had the benefit of "second site" and the Joss Whedon did not because there was no talk of Prometheus when he wrote the script for "Res". AGAIN HOWEVER... this was never something you had any control over and therefore that makes what you wrote...that much more ingenius! Up until now then story was Brilliant and I thought to some degree, Lacking in just ONE thing...The "UMPH" factor, which I always define as the One Big "Device in the writing" if you will in any story that grabs the reader by the "boo boo", doesn't let go, and Hooks them so they cannot free themselves from obsessing over it when they lay awake at night and think about it. I think you just found yours Bro. That right there goes above and beyond any kind of creative thinking that most people are even capable of !!! I do not know what else to say man. Despite any differences you and I may have had in the past, that right there is Effort, Hard work, and above all creative and original thinking on an order I do not think most people can even appreciate...But Snorky...let me tell you right now... I DO !!! Like I said, you've found your storys "UMPH" factor, and it could NOT BE ANY BETTER THAN THAT...FOR ME...IT IS THE MOST EXCITING THING I HAVE READ ON THIS WEB SITE SINCE I FIRST GOT HERE!!! I am flabbergasted by it !!! Congradulations "Snorky", you have found your special purpose on this earth, YOU ARE A SCIENCE FICTION WRITER DUDE... I mean again.... “Warning. Jesus F'ing Christ Dude, that's REMARKABLE !!!
