MemberOvomorph12/30/2011I don't know any of his scores.. but if he did the score for the trailer.. he is bad ass!

MemberOvomorph12/30/2011I think the score of the trailer has connections to original ALIEN trailer in 1979. Here you have the link to it: Original ALIEN trailer

MemberOvomorph12/30/2011I've read some "not so good" opinions and worries about Streitenfeld and his scores. I listened to some tracks and it wasn't convincing at all but I hope he'll prove me wrong.

MemberOvomorph12/30/2011which scores are you referring to Ruth ?.
Ruth
MemberOvomorph12/30/2011Well, I didn't like him so much in Robin Hood or A good year. I mean, maybe he's not so bad but it's not like he creates music like, for example, H Zimmer does. He's some sort of an average composer and all of those worries are about if he will be able to represent the atmosphere like in Alien or other Sci fi movies/etc (I pretty much liked Dead Space soundtrack, for example). It may be not his genre.
And, he didn't do the music for the trailer, it was Audiomachine's "Judge and Jury" (i guess) mix with screams of Alien trailer (or those sounds, I'm not sure if we can call it screams:D, but whatever)

MemberOvomorph12/30/2011Well Marc Streitenfeld was an assistant to Hans Zimmer and he has only scored 5 films so its a little hard to judge his versatility at this point. What i will say is that what he did do for American gangster and body of lies was good not great but given the benefit of the doubt I'm hoping he comes up trumps with this project.
Personally i really loved Clint Mansells score for the fountain
and Hans Zimmers score for black hawk down , and gladiator are amongst my favourite film scores but my all time favourite is Vangelis Blade Runner .... Timeless beauty, passionate, Heartfelt and Unforgettably classic.

MemberOvomorph12/30/2011Yes, Blade Runner score was amazing, I agree!
I know that and as I've said already - we will see, maybe he'll show us his quality in Prometheus score. I hope for that, the least thing I'd want for the film would be a stupid soundtrack.

MemberOvomorph12/30/2011i'm with you on that Ruth heres hoping he does the business .

MemberOvomorph01/1/2012Never even heard of him until now - I hope he can come up with something as distinctive and haunting as Goldsmith's and Goldenthal's scores.

MemberOvomorphMar-16-2012 8:15 AMJust saw THE GREY in the cinema and fell in love with Streitenfeld's score. It's not that kind of soundtrack album for regular listenings, I mean that it works better with film than on its own. I'm optimistic, I think that he will do a great job.

MemberOvomorphMar-16-2012 8:34 AMYes a bit of a concern as I cannot say that I know anything of his stuff and jerry goldsmith was a genius so would be hard to beat jerry but I do hope he can bring somthing out of himself and make an astounding score as music plays a huge part in any film.... Here's hoping.
I noticed a lick at the end of the trailer for the trailer to debut tomorrow right at the end and liked that part but that music was generally awful where the teaser was actually really good music.
Let's hope he takes alot of influence from Jerry on how to do it right... And does it right
