My favorite part is when they are getting ready to march on to the armored vehicle to load into the drop shit. "Absolutely Bad Asses!","Who's mean!"...right up to the part where Hudson is acting like a wanker and is telling Ripley not to worry cause of why they are the ultimate bad asses!

I remember when Aliens came out back in '85. I was 9 then and it took me a week to talk my mother into taking me. I got hooked on the Xeno from Alien that I rented at Blockbuster a couple weeks before the movie came out. They scared the hell out of me back then. I was on the edge of my seat during the entire movie. We made it all the way through the movie to where the Queen turns the corner when Ripley was waiting for the elevator in the reactor and suddenly we heard a loud bang from behind us and through the sound system the film snapped and something blew in the projector when the film busted. We had to get a rain check for the movie. But holy crap that loud bang scared the snot out of me and forever scarred my psyche with Aliens :)

I was seventeen when Aliens hit UK cinemas back in '86, a while after it came out in the States. There was always a delay in those days. My mate had been on holiday to the US & had seen it there.. He would not stop talking about the movie, about the Marines, the weapons, the battles.. We went to see it together as soon as it hit the UK. It was at a local fleapit movie theatre & we had turned up late, the movie had already started, Apone was loading the Marines up on the APC.. I walked out of the threatre breathless.. I was totally blown away.. I went to see it again the day after. Aliens, the original Star Wars Movies & Raiders are the only movies that really matter to me.. Alien was just too damn scary when I first watched it as a kid, it's only more recently I've come to appreciate it.. The scene where Brett discovers the Alien.. Damn.. I fear for this new movie, expectations are very high, I'm praying Ridley pulls it off..

The moment where Ripley has Newt over her shoulder and she looks up and the Queen is revealed, brilliant cinema

This is for Ruhaniya... [special edition] [during the drop to LV-426] Hudson: I'm ready, man, check it out. I am the ultimate badass! State of the badass art! You do NOT wanna fuck with me. Check it out! Hey Ripley, don't worry. Me and my squad of ultimate badasses will protect you! Check it out! Independently targeting particle beam phalanx. Vwap! Fry half a city with this puppy. We got tactical smart missiles, phase-plasma pulse rifles, RPGs, we got sonic electronic ball breakers! We got nukes, we got knives, sharp sticks... Apone: Knock it off, Hudson. All right, gear up.

Ripley: Well, somebody's gonna have to go out there. Take a portable terminal, go out there and patch in manually. Hudson: Oh yeah, sure! With those things runnin' around? You can count me out. Hicks: Yeah I guess we can just count you out of everything, Hudson. Bishop: [speaking under Hicks] I'll go. Hudson: That's right, man. Bishop: I'll go. Hudson: Hey, why don't you go, man! Bishop: [more loudly] I'll go. Ripley: What? Bishop: I'll go. I mean, I'm the only one qualified to remote-pilot the ship anyway. Hudson: Yeah right, man, Bishop should go. [Vasquez looks at Hudson with disgust] Hudson: Good idea! Bishop: Believe me, I'd prefer not to. I may be synthetic, but I'm not stupid.

MOMENTS THAT GAVE ME "THE SHIVERS" Newt: My mommy always said there were no monsters - no real ones - but there are. Ripley: Yes, there are, aren't there? Newt: Why do they tell little kids that? Ripley: Most of the time it's true. ----------------------------- Ripley: How many drops is this for you, Lieutenant? Gorman: Thirty eight... simulated. Vasquez: How many *combat* drops? Gorman: Uh, two. Including this one. Drake: Shit. Hudson: Oh, man... ---------------------------- Ripley: They grab the colonists, they move them over there and they immobilize them to be hosts for more of these. Which would mean that there would have to be a lot of these parasites, right? One for each colonist. That's over a hundred at least. Bishop: Yes, that follows. Ripley: But each one of these things comes from an egg, right? So who's laying these eggs? Bishop: I'm not sure. It must be something we haven't seen yet. ---------------------------- Ripley: Lieutenant, what do those pulse rifles fire? Gorman: 10 millimeter explosive tip caseless. Standard light armor piercing round, why? Ripley: Well, look where your team is. They're right under the primary heat exchangers. Gorman: So? Ripley: So, if they fire their weapons in there, won't they rupture the cooling system? Burke: [interjecting] Ho, ho, ho. Yeah, she's absolutely right. Gorman: [turns round to Burke] So? So what? Burke: Look, this whole station is basically a big fusion reactor... [Gorman turns back to stare, horrified, at the screen] Burke: ...right? So you're talkin' about a thermonuclear explosion and "Adiós, muchachos." Gorman: Oh, great. Wonderful. Shit! -------------------------- Frost: Hey, I sure wouldn't mind getting some more of that Arcturian poontang! Remember that time? Spunkmeyer: Yeah, Frost, but the one that you had was a male! Frost: It doesn't matter when it's Arcturian, baby! -------------------------- Hudson: Is this gonna be a standup fight, sir, or another bughunt? Gorman: All we know is that there's still no contact with the colony, and that a xenomorph may be involved. Frost: Excuse me sir, a-a what? Gorman: A xenomorph. Hicks: It's a bughunt.

I am one of the strange ones out there that absolutely loved the extended directors cut of Alien 3. There are 2-3 separate death scenes in there that for me where just visually stunning far beyond any death scenes in any of the other films. But I agree completely that The 2nd film by Cameron, "Aliens", was technically in a world by itself and had the most mass appeal by far of the four films.

There's a deleted scene when ripley runs into Burton looking for Newt, he has already been impregnated by an alien egg and she hands him a grenade and runs off without saying a word. I like Michael Biehn as Hicks, but to me, Hudson and Vasquez made this movie. Also, they should show in a detailed graphic scene the facehugger's tube forcing its way down someone's throat after it has jumped on their face.

Aliens is the classic movie that the whole family can appreciate ...my mother was always in love with the movie ...until ..alien3 came out ...now she cant watch it anymore cos she know that newt go to die ( and to be honest alien 3 ruin the aliens experience to me too ). Btw was a great movie .. i watched it almost 50/60 times and is one of those "perfect" movies where everything click perfectly . Even if ALIEN went more deep inside to me ( it surely changed my life in many little ways ) ALIENS have so many things ..so many discovers ..so much tension .. great characters ...is a classic movie but at the best . immagine they should continue to ruin cameron's movies TITANIC 2 ...Was too late to save Rose ..she died in the return voyage ..the movie will talk about other people and .. AVATAR 2 ...at the start of the movie Pandora is destroyed by a giant meteor ... the movie will follow a group of scientists that try to find a new planet of the earth population ... TERMINATOR 3bis - sarah connor die with the little john in a car crash .. the machines now rules the earth and we follow them killing the last human beings ...

I have a lot of Merchandising memories of Aliens, more so than the first film. I still have the small lead miniatures that came in small black snappy cases, painted and all, think they were around 2cm's tall? Saved up for weeks to buy a 1:1 scale pulse rifle made from Vac form and resin, then another month to figure out how to build the damn thing. I bought the Halcyon Drop ship, APC and Alien with Egg base kits and built them up. Also, I managed to find a head set mike of the same make as used in Aliens, even painted it up green to wear with the costume I never managed to complete. Best of all, I remember the Arcade game that was to be found upstairs in Birmingham Airport, played on the one quite a lot.
