Have you ever finished one of the jurassic park movies and ever thought "wow what if jurassic park was real" well it could be. now that does sound far fetched but when Michael Crichton wrote the first jp he wasn't far off. but first let me tell you why using the amber technique wouldn't work when blood is held for a long time it begins to decompose and is no longer useable but by using a different technique you can get still get some DNA let me list the ways: 1 by grinding the bones you can get some DNA (not a lot) 2 if a dinosaurs fossil was well preserved some nutrients/DNA from the dinosaur will be preserved 3 if a dinosaur was frozen in ice or stuckin a bog it'll probably be well preserved enough to get DNA. now you cant use a frog (well you could you'd just get a man eating frog/tyrannosaur that hops around and eats flys) so another thing you can use is a chicken by filling in the gaps with chicken DNA and then inserting it into a chicken embryo you'd get a basic theropod ( walks on 2 legs) chicken/Dino hybrid now you have to keep breeding the results and you'll most likely end up with a carnivorous dinosaur. now to get a basic sauropod (walks on 4 legs) its a lot more complicated and takes more DNA manipulating you'd have to use a different animal you could still use chicken you just have to genetically alter it to walk on four legs and repeat breeding now the million doller question is should we? well thats for you to choose not me. just consider what ingen went threw it would be highly expensive to stable and feed these. but how cool would it be to have a pet parasaurlophus or raptor in your backyard?

Personally....NO!! Although i do see the drive to do it, but if I learned anything from movies, or life for that matter, it is that we humans do ambitious things. Those things do't turn out very well(sometimes) either.

well I do see your stand point and I respect that. but this could hold a lot of promise for the scientific community also what we've learned from jurassic park we can apply to this for example smaller amount of predators, not every thing controlled by computer and a back up generator for power to the fences. there will be problems with it but there are ways to prevent these things from happening yes in a way "life will find a way" no matter what pro-cations we take but... humans learn from are mistakes so it might be worth a shot

You speak the truth. Even though i have doubts at something like this, the possibility of it is motivation enough for some poeple(one day) and the results of it could be out of this world. A real life Jurassic Park could be something succesful and wonderful on a small scale or even something like the the movie, but the point is that the possible effects are amazing.

I think it's absolutely being tested already and probably has been for many many years now. Whether they will be successful or not is a different story. But do I ever think of Jurassic Park becoming a reality? Absolutely! Do I think it would be a good idea? Hell no! Haha, movies aren't just for entertainment value, they have valuable messages in them as well. Jurassic Park's is a simple one - you can't control life. Life always finds a way. Just like with the Terminator movies. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. But if I were to compare those two franchises, I'd say we have a higher chance of creating a deadly, self-aware AI than re-creating a Tyrannosaurus Rex in a lab.

sadly this is just a theory no one has yet to invest in this possibilities, i do believe that there is the side of risk but i dont think a chubby hacker could come and screw over my version of jurassic park but to Achieve something you must hang the risks and see what happens

As awesome as that sounds, I would have to say no, I do not think it would work out correctly( with the DNA part, you would have so many incorrect species), and most of all I don't want to be killed by a pack of Raptors :)

well it would take a lot of trial and errors but that is what science is (I dont think getting Eaton by a raptor is in science though) but there raptors they were only truly to the size of your knee a utah raptor on the other hand is the size depicted in the movies... a pet velociraptor hmmmm small and fun (and deadly)

wow! this sounds so smazing. I think someone should try it out with the genes of an ostrich instead of a chicken. and make create a theme park :P though things goes wrong in the movie becos of human error and greed, it does nt always have to happen that way. There are wild animals in every Zoos bt nothing goes wrong right? so I dont see any problem in trying this out.

I wish this would happen. With today's technology anything is possible. "Life always finds a way" and "We can't play God" are the typical response, but think of what can be achieved if we can re-create a dinosaur. The things we can learn from them. We dream about space, time travel, and flying cars yet no one thinks about bringing back the past and what we could benefit from it. I think it is a great idea.

well james if you got a couple billion dollars id be willing XD kidding of course but people dont realize what we can accomplish if we stop using technology for are own greed and conflict we might actually be somewhere in life and not where we are today -sigh- if only

fantastically speaking I think that as long as we have backup generators and have the fuse box in thge main control room we will be fine. but i do mind the risks so crank it up to 100,000 volts just to be safe

They show extreme intelligence; even problem solving intelligence. Especially the big one. We bred eight originally, but when she came in, she took over the pack and killed all but two of the others.

yes but people are cautious that that might kill the dinos i say BULL these creatures a the biggest lumbering beast mankind has ever seen as muldoon put it "even with a direct bullet to the heart or brain it takes them several hours to die slow bleeders strong chest the only thing to stop them is to blow them apart" well at least i think it went like that. so it we could keep it like that i know several island just off the coast of coasta rica that we can keep the dinosaurs in (im not joking). so yes we just keep the generator in the basement of the vistor center and keep the fusebox with it and have several people who know how to operate it we should be good also NO FAT HACKERS ALLOWED have a nice day XD thanks for your input in 5 years are jurassic park should be up and running does anyone know how to feed a baby hadrosaur?

^^^ This! XD Would have to put safe houses around the park, too. Just incase of emergency. Like a little outhouse but it has stairs into an underground bunker thing. (Small.) It would have enough lighting to see if there is a raptor down there, too. :)

well if you pay close attention john tells them to get to the "vistor bunker" his exact words are "now just incase i want every one down in the vistor bunker id imagine they wouldn't be fools and would have several around the park in my jurassic park wed have several vistor bunkers all near the attractions and compounds now all i have to do is make up some blue prints for it

I've heard it is possible to mix bird and a little bit of reptile (maybe mammal) DNA to make a raptor like animal. That was from a 2007 or something like that doc. Now scientists are saying we could revive DNA from 50,000 years ago, so why not try 2 or 3 year old DNA to get a dinosaur? At least some idiots would come spend 2,000 on seeing a chicken-croc!

&danlophosaurus well dan obtaining the dna may be a little tricky but right around the tim the were filming jp1 or 2 jack Horner (or some other palaeontologist) unearthed the biggest rex on record it was so big the chopper couldn't pick its leg up, they had to cut in half... when they did so they found some dna not enough for a full dna strand (or clone a dino) but just enough to know what it is

@Primelord well in my sequel to this discussion we chose isla de coco a nature preserve of the coast of coasta rica its ringed by mountains has good area for a port... ive already mapped out the area of where the vistor center hotel and paddocks are
