With comic book movie fans concentrating their attentions on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War, 20th Century Fox's latest instalment in their long running X-Men movie franchise is struggling to capture fans imaginations. Despite the overwhelming runaway success of this February's Deadpool, trailers for next months X-Men: Apocalypse have yet to recreate the same sense of anticipation in audiences and fans.

One forthcoming X-Men sequel that could generate interest in fans is Hugh Jackman's forthcoming last outing as possibly the franchises most popular mutant. the as-of-yet untitled third Wolverine movie will see the Australian star return for 'one last time' with co-star Patrick Stewart and returning director James Mangold. Producer Simon Kinberg has confirmed recently that the movie will be set in future, adding fuel to the fire of speculation that the movie will be an adaptation of the popular comic book storyline by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven called 'Old Man Logan',which saw an aged Wolverine fighting to survive against maniacal future versions of popular Marvel characters in a post apocalyptic, western style setting.
