Rebel Moon Plot and Details
Set for release in December this year, Rebel Moon is penned as an epic space opera. As described by Collider, it’s directed by Zack Snyder and will be released on Netflix while receiving a limited theatrical release at the same time. The plot is based on a tyrant named Balisarius, who is threatening a peaceful colony, so to fight back the residents send the mysterious Kora to find warriors from nearby planets who are willing to join them. The stars of this movie include Sofia Boutella, who plays Kora, Ray Fisher, Jena Malone, and Charlie Hunnam, with Ed Skrein as the ruthless Balisarius.
There are a couple of reasons for believing that this could become a huge sci-fi franchise. The first is that Snyder has already spoken of his hope that this movie will turn into a cinematic universe. The other reason is that a second movie has already been shot and will be titled Rebel Moon Part 2, so it seems that the producers already believe that the first part will be a major success.

Does It Have What It Takes to Become a Popular Franchise?
It’s no surprise that many people are comparing Rebel Moon to Star Wars, as it was originally written as part of the Star Wars universe before being adapted to become a separate film. The trailers suggest an epic, planet-hopping movie with dramatic fight scenes, but its ultimate success could come down to whether the characters resonate with audiences in the way that the likes of Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader have.
