So here is a roundup of everything we know so far about the new Mass Effect Game.
Mass Effect 4?
Firstly the name Mass Effect 4 is only a working title, there are rumours that the game will be named something like Biowares other project ‘Dragon Age - Inquisition’ as the game is not a direct sequel from Mass Effect 3.
When will it be set?
There hasn’t been any solid news as to when the game is set.
Although during last year’s PAX Prime convention Mass effect producer Micheal Gamble tweeted asking if anyone who “loved” the game would attending. 21 people where chosen to take part in a 2 hour presentation, the contents of which was kept hidden. A week later a post was added to Biowares forums outlining some of that information. The post rumoured 2 new alien races. One being called an arrogant skeletal version of a Turian and the other Ancient , advanced and guardian with similar colours to the reapers. These new species may hint to the game being held after the events of Mass Effect 3.
What will be the same?
Straight off the bat Bioware told us there would be no Shepard. This could also mean that none of Shepard’s companions will make an appearance. Mass Effect producer Yanick Roy tweeted that the style of gameplay with stay the same and include romance options.
What’s New?
Well at this stage nothing is concrete. Last November 7th (N7 Day) Bioware posted some photos from their office showing the team developing the game. They also tweeted a picture of a Mako with the line “We can draw inspiration for the future.
Where is the Game at?
So far we have been told the game is in “Middle of development’ with Casey Hudson (Project director) and Montreal boss Aaryn Flynn tweeting that they have gone “Hands-on” with a playable build of the game, Following up with tweets like “Ambitious. Beautiful” and “Fresh but recognisable”
When will we know more?
Unfortunately for us Bioware is busy pushing ‘Dragon Age - Inquisition’ (ready for its October release). So the chances of having any news anytime this year is pretty slim. Although keep an eye out on November 7th (N7 Day) for, hopefully, some more seek peeks
