With the current trend of cinematic universes it seems highly likely, especially if they want to compete with Marvel Studios and Warner Bros./DC, that 20th Century Fox will utilise the Marvel properties they own the production rights to, creating their own, vast cinematic universe. The X-Men and the Fantastic Four may be the primary properties they have access to, but the former allows Fox a mass multitude of spin off franchises of which the highly popular, mentlly unhinged mutant Deadpool is but one possibility. Taken into account the characters popularity and an actor keen to play the role again, the only thing holding back Fox is the premise, the approach the movie will take - a violent comedy superhero (though technically anti-hero) that breaks the fourth wall and converses with the audience is actually a hard sell.
That is why, back in 2012, to persude the studio that Deadpool was viable director Tim Miller (whom was then attached to direct the movie) and his visual effects company Blur Studio had developed some test footage for the project with star Ryan Reynolds providing the motion capture and voice talent for the character. Despite the awesomeness of the footage concieved, of which is linked below, Fox have remained hesitant about the project, instead deciding to further explore the X-Men cinematic universe with this years days of Future Past and the forhcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.
Hopefully now that the footage has leaked online, the voices of the fans will persuade Fox to at the very least rethink their stance on everyones favorite merc with a mouth!
