Introduction

Ever since Taito published the first-ever Space Invaders video game in 1978, the gaming industry utilized aliens and outer space imagery to develop interesting and exciting arcade and console video games. After decades of advancements, video games evolved from simple software entertainment solutions to complex educative content as well as powerful artistic projects that include some of the best graphic and sound designers, often backed by celebrated movie directors and writers.

As a high school and college students represent the largest group of video game consumers, we did some research and came up with several video games inspired by alien life that resonate the best with this particular audience. The list is not composed according to complexity, price range, or system requirements but rather according to the popularity of each game with this user group.

Destroy all humans! – A view from an alien perspective

Published in 2005, “Destroy all humans” represents Pandemic Studio’s take on the urban myth better known as “The Roswell incident”. Placed in the late 50s, this game allows the player to take on the role of Alien space traveler who travels to Earth in order to gather as much human genetic material as possible and ensure the survival of its species. The game aesthetics brings a palpable 50s vibe through amazing graphics for 2005, making this game interesting to play even today.

The player is equipped with all popular alien tools and gadgets, including the ever-popular anal probe, which is an extension of the game developers’ whimsical humor that surrounds the game throughout. There are also flying saucers, ray guns with the ability to disintegrate their target, and the alien ability to use psychic powers to overcome human defenders. In 2020, Black Forest Games published a remake of this game, however, they only decided to brush up some of the graphics and leave the essence of the game unchanged, thus giving this amazing game a new life and a chance to be rediscovered by a new audience.

Education help for students

A lot of students enjoy playing video games for fun; however, a large number of young people use video games as a platform to earn some money and cover their tuition costs or other expenses. There are many ways for students to earn money through gaming including Twitch or YouTube streaming, video game coaching, or testing, all of which demand intense learning and time.

Being a professional gamer takes a lot of time, even those that simply create gaming review videos have to spend hours in preparation of their material, which can result in getting behind on college assignments. Numerous online platforms provide essay writing service with the highest quality and flexible deadlines which students can hire when they fall behind on their work. It's of utmost importance to have a strict schedule that would provide enough time for both video games and college obligations. Although professional gamers have potent market potential, education should always stand as a priority, which is why academic help services are very popular among gamers.

Stellaris – Building your space civilization

This amazing game features some of the most attractive graphics in the niche and brilliantly orchestrated sound effects that enhance the entire gaming experience. Stellaris allows you to create an alien race according to your preferences and travel across the universe in search of other alien civilizations and distant worlds.

The game allows you to decide or work through complex interstellar relationships, giving you ample opportunity for peaceful coexistence or an all-out war that takes place in real-time rather than a commonly used turn-based gaming experience. The player has the ability to design the type of life form, political structure, and a series of other variables that distinguish a space civilization. Paradox developers provided a series of customization options that make this game extremely creative, action-packed, and easy to understand even if you're not a fan of these types of video games.

Alien: Isolation – The best take on the popular franchise

When Ridley Scott’s “Alien” was released, the audience was captivated by gruesome and chilling scenes, unlike anything the movie industry have seen before. As the franchise grew in popularity and became a household name, there were several attempts to create a video game that would fit the creativity and uniqueness of the movie. However, just like it's difficult to find proper essay writing assistance among so many on the market, the gaming society had a rough time getting a decent Alien video game spin-off. It was only in 2014 when Creative Assembly published Alien: Isolation that the gaming audience was able to enjoy an “Alien” movie-based video game that was worthy of the popular franchise.

Alien: Isolation is a true horror flick, just like the movie it was based upon, with incredible graphics especially when it comes to the xenomorphic appearance of the main villain. The player is trapped inside a spaceship and trying to stay alive against a stealthy, quick, and deadly alien nemesis. The atmosphere adds to the tension and creates one of the most terrifying gaming experiences that test both gaming skills and nerves. It is the ultimate survival experience in space that will put even the bravest among us sitting at the edge of our seats, waiting for the Alien to jump out of the dark corridor.

Conclusion

There are numerous video games based on alien imagery which makes this entire niche extremely interesting for young people due to the versatility of available titles. The items we listed are mainly popular because they are entertaining, creative, and available across a wide range of platforms including popular gaming consoles and PC devices. If you’re a fan of alien-themed video games, the choices we presented for you should provide the experience you’re looking for and then some!
