Disney's upcoming Star Wars series The Mandalorian was given its own panel at this year's Star Wars Celebration which just passed and with it came some new footage and a few new images! During the panel, Executive Producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni revealed the origins of the show, which is set five years after Return of the Jedi. Following that, Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones), Gina Carano (Deadpool) and Carl Weathers (PREDATOR) took to the stage to discuss their characters.

Pedro Pascal will be playing the title character, The Mandalorian and will sport armor very reminiscent of Boba Fett and his father / clone dad Jango Fett.

Gina Carano plays a character named Cara Dune. Cara is an ex-Rebel Alliance shock trooper.

Carl Weathers will play the role of Greef Carga, the ring leader for a guild of intergalactic Bounty Hunters. He will have significant ties to Pascal's character.

Although the teaser reel was left out of the panel video below, CNet have a decent re-cap of what was shown:

The panel exclusively showed attendees a sizzle reel that opened with the Mandalorian walking on a bridge on an icy world, following a transponder to a shelter. Presumably he was hunting a mark.

It flashed through moments from the show's production, showing directors like Deborah Chow, Bryce Dallas-Howard and Taika Waititi. We got a look at the Mandalorian's ship, called the Razorcrest, and it's apparently a homage to Jango Fett's original ship (Kuat Drive Yards Amphibious Interstellar Assault Transport/infantry) seen in the Legends canon 2002 video game Bounty Hunter.

Pascal is seen being suited up, with Favreau noting that new planets, races, species and starships will be introduced.

In addition to the images above and the video, the first poster for The Mandalorian was photographed and shared to Twitter:

The Mandalorian will arrive on Disney's new streaming service Disney Plus on November 12th, 2019!

In the epilogue of Empire's end, after the Empire is essentially defeated, Sloane and Hux travel to some place in the Unknown regions where a SSD is hiding. It is suggested that they are there as a part of Palpatine's contingency in case of his death, ro rebuild the Empire from it's ashes. Sloane speaks the sentence in title to Hux, telling the reader that what they are forming is what would eventually become the First Order as we know it.

The wording of that sentence had me wondering. Did she say "our first order" just as a nod from Wending to the reader? Or does it mean that there were other orders as a part of the contingency? Wending wrote Empire's end after TFA came out so is it possible he had some info from KK about the direction they decided the ST would take?

Also with Wending having been fired do you think we will ever see an answer to it? Does JJ care about the expanded material enough to include the contigencies in TROS? With Palpatine coming back, it makes sense it would at least get a mention as his contigency is what essentially caused the events of the ST.
