During this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, the studio revealed a bit more about their plans for the film, including a teaser poster.
Sam Raimi, who will be producing the film, spoke to the gathered crowd alongside Naughty Dog Creative Director Neil Druckmann, who will be writing the screenplay. They announced that the movie is still "years away" and that they have spoken to Maisie Williams (Ayra Stark from Game of Thrones) about playing the part of 'Ellie'.
"It's an adaptation of the story of 'The Last of Us'. As far as where we go and how we make it fit into a film, how it takes into account the unique properties of film… We're not sure yet. We're only just scratching the surface."
