Ghost hunting fans will know that real life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, portrayed by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga (pictured below) in 2013's The Conjuring, investigated many well known cases during the 60's and 70's that have since become the inspiration to some of Hollywoods most well known scary movies.
The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist, will unsurprisingly revisit the case of the same name which occurred from 1977-1979 in a London family home. As previously reported the movie will feature the Warrens investigating the controversial case in which a single mothers two daughters were reportedly the victims of a violent poltergeist.
The Warrens return in The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist!
The movie, which wrapped filming December 1st, is also reported to feature the characters of Ronald (Sr.), Louise, Allison and Dawn DeFeo. The Defeo family were murdered by their son Ronald Jr. in 1974 at their residence in Amityville, New York, which was purchased 18 months later by the Lutz family, whom famously reported the house to be haunted after spending only 4 weeks at the house. The case became one of the Warrens most well known paranormal cases, inspiring a barrage of movies including the classic 1979 chiller The Amityville Horror, which was remade in 2005 starring Ryan Reynolds. A new movie, Amityville: The Awakening will also be released April 15th, 2016...
It is our belief that after the investigation into the case of the Enfield Poltergeist in the UK is concluded the closing moments of the movie will re-enact the murders of the DeFeo family before revealling the location of the murders to be the iconic visage known as "the Amityville house" at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York, with a sequel (2017/18?) likely being set during the investigation of the hauntings that were reported to take place there during the holiday season of 1975.
The real Amityville horror house still stands!
The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist will open in theatres June 10th, 2016.
