With the exciting reprisal of Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney+, fans are raving about what other possible prequel-era characters might be getting their own series on the streaming network in the future. One such character rumored to be getting their own exclusive series is none other than Obi-Wan's antagonist Sith Apprentice, Darth Maul!
According to an earlier report by Giant Freakin Robot, they claim trusted sources close to Disney have confirmed to them that a Darth Maul series in active development behind the scenes:
Interestingly enough, we also recently learned that a Darth Maul was supposed to feature in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series but was written out during script revisions, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Perhaps Disney deemed Maul popular enough for his own series rather than a cameo role in the Kenobi series.
Currently there has been no other confirmation regarding a Darth Maul series by Disney, however. But perhaps, they're waiting to announce the rumored series as a post-credits surprise teaser at the end of Kenobi's run.
