It all started back in 2013 (May) when EA scored the rights to any future Star Wars games. I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of the company (after an incident with Alice - The Madness Returns).
But I am staying very optimistic after dice released this teaser trailer back on June 10th 2013
So here is what we know so far…. So the game is going to be made using the frostbit 3 engine (Battle Field 4) which means we can expect some amazing visuals coupled with smooth game play and (Hopefully) a lot of destroyable.
The games is not a sequel to Battlefront 2 but a Re-boot of the franchise, it will contain some features of the previous games including the classic 3rd person view, a single player mode and a multiplayer mode. It is also being ported to Xbox 1, PS4 and PC.
There is currently not official release date but it has been rumoured to come out alongside the new Star Wars movie, so around about summer 2015
I am sure we will hear more as the year progresses for now keep an eye on the E3 lineup

CONFIRMED: Star Wars Battlefront 2 to premiere at annual Star Wars Celebration event!ScifiedScified2017-03-21 23:02:012017-03-21 23:02:01/articles/sm/star-wars-battlefront-2-premiere-at-annual-star-wars-celebration-event-16.jpg
I've got both Battlefront 1 and 2 for my old Ps2, and I love them. I hope they keep hero-play, hunts, instant action, and space battles. Battlefront 2 is my favorite of the two, and I'm pretty good, especially with a shotgun at Jabba's Palace. Good times, good times.
My 13 year old computer couldn't take the strain, but can't you play on LAN internet on the Ps2? Space battles are pretty awesome, I usually sabotage the enemy ship with a gunship and get the precision pistol. All though I hate it when a computer player doesn't out of the gunship and tries to fly out of the hangar, but crashes the gunship. Space Mygeeto is my favorite. My friend showed me that if you get it just right, you can land your ship in-between the force field of the hangar of the Rapublic ship at Space Mygeeto, get out of your ship and walk around the rim of the ship. I got the invicibilty cheat and jumped to a frigate below where I blew it up, of course I stared falling through space, but I respawned. My favorite ships to do dogfights with are gunships and bombers, the power is amazing! :D
Battlefront 2 is the first battle game I ever played, and i haven't turned away since. Halo: Reach is pretty awesome though.
Have you ever played the old Star Wars Dark Forces? I've got it for my computer, it was originally a Ps1 game I think. It's more of a puzzle game, with hidden switches and passage ways, but still enjoyable, even though the graphics are horrible.
hahaha i'll have to try that one.. yeah i think you can i'll have a play with it later.. Ahh dark forces.. i got a demo of it years ago.. then brought it back in the day.. I currently do a video series call "Loz plays star wars" where i have covered Battlefront 2 and my next one was gonna be darkforces or a pod racer.. i plan to record it tomorrow! so have a watch:
It was great, I liked the scoring thing you got going on.
My friend landed a gunship outside of the hangar one time and kept shooting my ship with his prisicion pistol, so I lit him and his clones up with the bomber. The funny thing is we were on the same team! :D
