Video gaming has always been a highly popular pastime for much of the world’s population, with many having spent hours and hours playing the latest titles as a means of being able to enjoy themselves to their fullest extent.

A range of different genres can be experienced when it comes down to playing the latest video games to have been made available, however for some, there is perhaps no better genre than those that follow a Sci-Fi theme.

Indeed, this particular theme can provide gamers with a variety of different elements and interesting aspects throughout their gaming experiences, with fantasy perhaps at the forefront of the game which is what perhaps makes them as compelling and as intriguing as they are.

Combine the popularity that Sci-Fi has with the huge amount of popularity that has been experienced in regard to the availability of esports, though, then it should not come as a surprise to learn that some of the biggest titles that are available to bet on at operators including Betway follow this particular genre.

However, what are some of the biggest Sci-Fi based titles to have been converted and made into an esport game?

Halo

One of the biggest titles to have been released as an esport in recent years that features a Sci-Fi theme is the Halo franchise, with a number of titles to have been launched within the series.

This game, which focuses on a military science fiction aspect, has been able to dominate the industry for a number of years and has only continued to go from strength to strength. Indeed, to highlight its influence in the industry, the franchise has recently been turned into a TV show.

The game has continued to expand and grow, with it becoming one of the most popular for bettors at Betway because of how highly competitive it is between the gamers who continue to compete in the various competitions that are held across the world, including the Halo Championship series.

Valorant

Valorant is another highly popular Sci-Fi esports title that is available to play that follows the fantasy theme and will see players go up against each other in teams. Tactics and strategy are at the forefront of this particular title, though, as players will need to go up against each other in a 5 v 5 shooter game; one team will attack and one will defend with each individual being provided with a unique ability that they will need to use in the game.

It is a title that has managed to garner a lot of attention in the past and has seen a number of huge competitions take place around the world, with winners of these events being rewarded lucratively.

Overwatch

Activision Blizzard might have just been bought out by Microsoft in a deal that was supposedly worth around US$68.7 billion dollars, however, when you think of the titles that they have managed to produce over the years, it perhaps is a deal where the price can be justified.

Indeed, Overwatch is one such title that was created and after being released in 2016, this action sci-fi game became a highly popular title for many in an instant. A multiplayer first-person shooter, this game has had a number of different world tournaments take place which has seen many compete against each other to try and come out as the best player.
