In a recent interview, Scarlett Johansson discussed the creative process that went into making 'Under The Skin' and why she chose to appear naked for a pivotal scene in the movie.
"I'm a pretty private person. It's not like I want to be displaying myself all over the place. But I think I just realized actually, that through the process of just letting go, and allowing myself as the character to be totally present in the moment, and making the discovery of my own self, as my character does… I realized what kind of judgement I place on myself, and how self-conscious I am about all different kinds of things. That wasn't just the nudity, but many different situations, where I just had to… we just couldn’t capture what we needed unless I was totally free of myself. That, in a sense, was very liberating."

Loosely based off Michel Faber's 2000 novel of the same name, the story is about a female alien who has been surgically altered to look human. She picks up unsuspecting male hitchikers at night but her intentions for the men are not sexual - they're culinary.
In search of loners, Laura (Scarlett Johansson) drives around the exquisitely moody landscapes of the Scottish highlands. She’s an alien, sent from afar and equipped with enough human language and awesome seductive power to capture, destroy and presumably send home human males. And then, her curiosity about her human body and an accidental act of pity disrupt her mission.
'Under The Skin' opens in the UK the 14th of March and then in the US on April 4, 2014
