According to several new reports, the Matrix reboot that Warner Bros. announced earlier this month may actually take the form of a Morpheus origin story (a role previously played by Laurence Fishburne).
That said, one can draw the conclusion that the casting of Michael B. Jordan (reported earlier this month) hints at the character of a young Morpheus.
In related news, screenwriter Zak Penn (X2, X-Men: The Last Stand) has reportedly been tapped to create a treatment for the new Matrix prequel. He posted to Twitter to clarify some details.
All I can say at this point is no one could or should REBOOT The Matrix. People who know Animatrix and the comics understand. Can’t comment yet except to say that the words “reboot” and “remake” were from an article. Let’s stop responding to inaccurate news.
