Independence Day and Independence Day 2 director Roland Emmerich continues to announce new additions to the already-impressive cast lineup for next year's high profile Independence Day sequel! Today, Emmerich announced that Sela Ward has officially been sworn in to Independence Day 2, insinuating that Ward will portray the new President. Bill Pullman who portrayed the President in Independence Day as Thomas Whitmore is also returning, but clearly not as the President once again. Maika Monroe was recently cast to play Whitmore's daughter, Patricia as well.
