For those of you who may not have read Prometheus: Fire and Stone from Dark Horse Comics, the series introduced some truly wild and terrifying Xeno-creations to the expanded universe. From mutated sharks to massive black-goo infected ants, these Xenomorphs would make for some great antagonists on-screen. Check out the scans below for a closer look:

Some of these closely ressemble the Xenomorph hybrids we featured in this list back in November, 2015. It's great to see their inclusion officially part of the expanded Alien Prometheus universe! Thanks to Syed Ali on Facebook for the scans!

I unfortunately haven't read all the availbale Fire and Stone comics, so I can't really comment on the actual story. However, I do think the concepts of seeing new hybrid creatures formed from the Engineer technology is pretty neat.

Yeah the Concepts were nice, and some made it to the Fire and Stone Comics, and they was not bad but i agree the Story was not the best, but it was a Non-Canon Story to tie in Predator, Aliens, Prometheus and AVP and so we dont have to accept what we saw.

I felt the Comics had plot holes and things that never added up, i could buy a crashed ship (Colony) that crash and is shown that some of the Plant and maybe Animal Life gets infected with the Goo and causes  a vareity of Animal and Plant life to spring forth... at a rapid rate of Evolution...

But in Prometheus nothing led me to see how LV-223 had massive Volumes of Water that would be large Lakes or Seas.... and so i could not understand how the Hell LV-223 would end up with Shark Xenos...

But i think the aim of the Comics and bare in mind they had (Dark Horse) sat down with Ridley and Fox and discused elements of the Franchise and Ideas and Black Goo so that the Comics did not step on any toes for the Prometheus Movies.

A source who leaked some info about what was supposed (but take with pinch of salt) to be in Prometheus 2 (Paglen/Green) was that some of the themes about how the Goo work is similar to what the Comics Showed but the Comics are not to be considered Canon.

And so yes, if we look at it like that.. then the Comics dont show us what really happens on LV-223 as far as Canon... but it would show us a WHAT IF....  Galons and Galons of the Black Goo was to infect native Plant and Organic Life...... so yes if the Goo made it to Earth and was droped into a Sea with Sharks then those Sharks in the Comic are indeed what would most likely occur.... if the Goo landed on a Rain Forest then maybe the Plant Life would evolve to be just like in the Fire and Stone Comics on LV-223

As far as the Concept works from before... they are very interesting and indeed are some of the possible outcomes of a Xeno Gestating within the said Organisms... i.e Face Hugged T-Rex.... or maybe also as a result of the Goo.

I for one hope we see some different Hybrids, in the Franchise and not only future Prometheus/Alien Prequels but also Alien sequels... like Blomkamps Alien 5 which included a different Egg/Face Huger and we also saw a Different Xeno that looked like a Deacon... only more Bio-Mechanical than the one at the end of Prometheus which was a Human/Xeno DNA Hybrid....

Here is the Xeno Varient never been seen before that was in Blomkamps Concept work

Looking at it now... its not really Bio-Mechanical like the Xeno... but  its not as Human/Engineer Looking as the Deacon

The biggest disapointment for me with Fire and Stone was they had cover art and inner cover art that featured a lot of interesting things.... that was never seen in the comics themselves unless i missed something.... which included the below.

So yes the coverwork lead us up a Garden Path and we got something disapointing instead... which shows maybe we cant take Cover Work or clues as being anything in the Plot.

I think that they are over-doing it if they have too many kinds of Xenos. Yes they can take many different forms (like the Dog in Alien 3) but if they show too many forms it will be like if you have 100 variations of ice-cream, it becomes too much. As far as the Xeno goes I think that they should stick to the movies and leave it at that.

They only like the Fire and Stone Comic has shown.... they only have to show HOW many varients could be created...

Those who looked into Prometheus would have been able to work out that Goo + Other Worlds Life would lead to such similar Creatures..... Prometheus never showed us any such creatures... not many any way but it showed us what would happen if the Goo was... by looking at how it worked in the movie..

We can then Guess and come up with the notion of what if the Goo infected this... or a Xeno Embryo was implanted in that....   And Fire and Stone basically showed us what would Actually Happen.... like AVP2 did as far as a Face Hugger+ Predator.

I hope we see some variations but i dont want to see to many.... less is better. As long as it is coherent and shown at some point in a bit of detail.

Big Dave:

As far as the movie goes someone there can mention the possibility and say it in a line something like "if they have this goo and if it affects these life forms in that way then imagine how many life forms it could potentially mutate..." and then you can make your own guess. This comment isn't exact and that is the point - that you can make your own idea about it (but they don't need to show that in the movie).

I haven't read the comics about Prometheus so I can not really comment on them.

I think Clues were always there just not as Spoon Fed for some.... in Prometheus a little more suptle changes and we could have made more of a Connection... i.e a More Xeno DNA Fifield, if we did see the Trilobite ge wounded and thats how the Acid Burn happened.... which is what i think is what happened.

Spaights draft was more coherent and thought out, everything had a connection and was planned out... i.e This does this and that.... Lindeloffs not so much.... but the Shooting Draft well the end product was vastly more incoherent and the way the movie was edited and cut never helped.

As far as the Comic....

Well it shows the aftermath of LV-223 where the Black Goo had gotten all over the place, and it lead to the planet being covered in Plant Life and a Forest that had a Xeno Bio-Mechanical Look to it... the plants also seemed to look like the Spiral DNA Double Helix look to them...

We see Ants, and then some Black Goo larger Xeno DNA Ants... and as we go on we see a whole manner of creatures that have Xeno DNA imprinted in them.

BigDave: Yeah I think that they could have done the Fifield monster a lot better that was a missed opportunity. It was crap that they went with the Zombie version instead of the more Xeno like version. Fifield Xeno style of was a lot better (I have watched it).

The Trilobite was interesting but it could have been so much better. Like a lot of other things it was a missed oppurtunity.

Movies don't need to be over explanatory but they shall not be extremly vague. Hopefully they will have better characters the next time (more cohertent as you put it).
