Prometheus 2 Begins Filming in January!

Excellent News!!! Finally, something is happening with Prometheus 2.

However, as Prometheus 2 starts filming in Jan next year, it will definitely not be released in Mar 2016 as previously announced/rumoured. Let's say filming takes 3-4 months to complete, post-production will take at least a year which means we will see it in cinemas at some point in the 2nd half of 2017, probably Oct/Nov 2017 which is a long wait. Better late than never!

Necromancer, 'Prometheus' principal photography begain in March of 2011 and it was released a year later.  If Scott is starting to film in January of 2016, I suppose we could see it earlier than the fall of 2017, but considering all that is slated for that year, I think October might be best.  Just take a glimpse at the movies coming out each month here or here.

This finally is some positive news, we shall have to wait for more to come out to confirm such a thing however...

As far as Production it depends on when stuff is started, howmany projects Ridley is working on and post production.

I would say that we could see the movie as Early as Fall 2016 or even around Spring 2017

I think a big factor would be Alien 5, Ridley would not want to have both movies out at the same time, i think he would rather show us them at least 6 Months apart and also so that say if Prometheus is out first any minor clues to LV 223 and LV 426 and Xeno/Engineer connections could be hinted at vaguely and then get our expectations and excitement levels raised that Alien 5 will then futher explore such things...

Or Vice Versa, that if Alien 5 is out first maybe it will cover some connection with the Xeno and Engineers and LV 223/LV 426 link in which case it would maybe then midly link the Goo and leave us expecting for Prometheus 2 to some how give a link between the Goo and Engineers Bio Weapon creations stored in the Zeta Reticuli System.

If a January is confirmed as Shooting Start time then looking at typical Ridley movie schedule, then i would say Fall 2016 is very optimistic, however a Fall 2017 would be way way too long and so a between Spring and Summer 2017 could be a more realistic date....

If i had to take a guess and put money on it i would say a May 2017 for a 5 year wait between both movies is where i would think it would come out!

I have been waiting for news of filming for soooo long. This is fantastic. So excited for this. (less excited for the Blombklomphatoh Alien sequel, but still curious, of course, especially since Ridley has been allowed to input his 2 cents)
