It has been a week since ozzy and his siblings hatched, and they have doubled in size. Ozzy is particularly large, at two and a half feet tall and 5 feet long. Soaking up what was left of their egg sack. Now their mother nudges them tentivly, She's going to teach them how to hunt. They walk to the edge of their forest home, and the mother Acrocanthosaur hunkers to the ground, eyeing the vast open plain in front of them. At first, the Youngsters are confused.
They catch on when a small Maiasaura lumbers obliviously towards them.
The mama Acrocanthosaur Tensed in anticipation as the hadrosaur lumbered closer. In a split second, she sprang forward. Her teeth pierced the Maiasaurus neck, and it fell to the ground. She dragged it to the cover of the trees, and ripped it open. The smell of blood sent the Youngsters into a frenzy. Instintively, Ozzy joined his siblings in curiously nibbling on the Hadrosaur. He knew it was food, and started to bite small chunks off. With A chunk of Liver, ozzy walked swiftly over to a large rock and put the meat down. His smallest brother had followed him over. He squealed at ozzy and tried to take his food. Big mistake. Ozzy bit down on his snout and thrrew him a foot to the left. The baby squeaked in pain, and got up painfully. He had broken his middle toe. Ozzy was indifferent, and gobbled down his prize.
After he was finished, he was still hungry. His mother was eating, so he decided to hone his killing skills. He searched the ground endlessly for something. After about a minute, he came across a small rodent. He wriggled his tail and pouned, breaking the back of the unsuspecting mammal. He picked it up and swallowed it hole. The moment of the kill gave Ozzy an odd sense of Satisfaction. He ran back to his mother, unaware he was being watched.
His brother with the broken toe hobbled to where he was standing just seconds before. As ozzy turned to look at his sibling, it was yanked into the air by something big. The dying scream of the young Carcharodontosaur snapped his mother to attention. She rose her bloody snout out of the carcass, and focused on her babys killer. A small Troodon. With a blind fury, she covered the distance in three enormous bounds. The Troodon had no chance. It was yanked bodily off the ground and shaken like a Ragdoll. The Angry mother threw the Troodon into a large Pine tree, breaking its neck. The Troodon slumped to the ground, and blood oozed from the lifeless corpse. With an Indifferent snort, the mother Acrocanthosaurus walked back to the nest site. Ozzy looked at the dead animal for a moment beforing following his mother.
There was no time to mourn. Life and death was all around them, and they had to cope. Unfortunatly for Ozzy, death would play a huge factor in his life..
