X-Men: Apocalypse certainly isn't lighting the world on fire. It's worldwide earning stand at $513 million, and it's expected to fall well short of Days of Future Past's massive $747 million haul.
However, the film did fare relatively well with critics, with one of the primary areas of praise being the sinister titular villain. But did you know we almost had a very different version of Apocalypse in the movie?
That's right, concept artist Jerad Marantz shared an image on his ArtStation account of his original design of the world's first mutant, and wow. Marantz mentions that this was a passion project as Apocalypse was one of his favourite villains, and this strange, high-tech design of certainly looks like he put a lot of time and effort into it.
Would you have preferred to see this version of Apocalypse in the move? Let us know in the comments.
