A gray, black-tipped fin rose out of the water. However, this fin didn't belong to a normal creature. It was nine feet tall! As soon as it rose out of the water, it went back in. Nobody saw the fin. Those who might've seen a glimpse of it probably assumed it was a Great White, which were common in the area. A few seconds after the fin went back under, an enourmous head full of red-tipped, serrated teeth, each about six inches long. A large piece of meat was sticking out of it's jaws. The water turned warm and red. It was the blood of a thirty foot long humpback whale.
"What is this?" A man named Alan Sanerro asked as he picked up a long tooth from the sandy beach of Baja, California.
"It's some sort of shark tooth." A man examining the shore with him named Gary Mattini replied. "Oh yeah, I found a couple black ones before. It's a-" He was interrupted by the sight of something. It was a thrashing sound in the water about fourty feet offshore. They looked closer via bionouclars, and saw it was leaping and thrashing on the water's surface. A large fin and treading water was near it. It was an eighteen foot long oarfish. A few seconds later, a heavy, red stream of water emerged on the surface near the creature. It was the oarfish's blood.
All the movement near the fish stopped. The fin slinked back into the water, the oarfish with it. The water treading stopped. The splashing stopped. All that was left was the pool of the unfourtanate fish's blood. Alan looked back at the tooth.
"Nobody realizes what we're dealing with here." Alan said grimly.
