War...Has...Already...Begun! 20th Century Fox have released not one but two awesome trailers filled with lots of new footage, both of which really set the razors edge tone for the forthcoming sequel to 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes - Director Matt Reeves' (Cloverfield) Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which will see Jason Clarke (Terminator: Genesis) and Keri Russell (Dark Skies) attempt to strike a peaceful co-existence between Caesar's growing Ape empire and the angry, homeless human survivors of the Simian Flu...

20th Century Fox have also released an international TV spot for the movie, using much of the same footage from the two new trailers...

And finally we have an awesome exclusive for Scified members. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Firestorm (pictured below) is the forthcoming official prequel novel from Titan Books, written by New York Times best selling sci-fi author Greg Keyes (Star Wars: The Jedi Order - The Final Prophecy). Firestorm bridges the gap between Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet apes, detailing the spread of the Simian Flu and the rise of Caesars' Ape empire. The novel is a must-read for any science fiction fan, and we urge you to grab a copy when it is released May 27th.

Until then we are giving our members the chance to question the author on his new book, or any of his past bestsellers. If you have a question for Greg please leave it in a comment below and we will pass on your questions and post his answers in a future post.

I am still wondering if Koba will be the antagonist of this movie.

So this upcoming movie bridges  the last movie to the movie called The Planet of the Apes?  The one with Charleston Heston?

@ GhostRhodan1000000 - It seems as though Koba will indeed play some form of antagonistic role, but to what degree, well we'll find out in July.

@ KMel1517 - not quite, 20th Century Fox have greenlit a third movie due July 29th 2016, which will most likely bridge the gap to the 1968 original.
