In 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes Maurice the Orangutan (named after actor Maurice Evans whom played Orangutan Dr. Zaius in the 1968 original) was seen as a pleasant, thoughtful soul. Thankfully, it seems director Matt Reeves has stayed true to his movies predecessor with Caesar, Koba, Buck and now Maurice being shown to exhibit te same qualities and personalities that made us associate with their cause in the last movie.
