Koba, along with Maurice, Cornelia, Rocket, Buck and of course Caesar is one of the returning ape characters from 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes. A Bonobo Chipanzee, Koba spent most of his life in captivity as a test subject for the humans, and as such bears an intense hatred towards humans, as deep as the scars that cover his face and body. Though Koba will not hesitate to voice his opinion, even to Caesar, he does respect and follow Ceasar.
Koba, portrayed by Christopher Gordon in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, is portrayed by Toby Kebbell in the forthcoming sequel and is named after an alias often used by the former leader of the Soviet Union, Joseph Stalin
