A double-win for Warner Brothers, Mortal Kombat managed to earn itself an impressive $22.5 million at the box office! That figure was not far off from Godzilla vs. Kong's $31 million debut last month.
It's clear moviegoers are longing to return to theaters, the pandemic fatigue is growing stronger and these figures are indicative of that. Both Mortal Kombat and Godzilla vs. Kong managed to earn significant returns despite nearly half of theaters in North America still remaining closed to public access.
With a reported $55 million budget, Mortal Kombat is on track to surpass its break-even point if trends continue!
