After the release of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, and Wonder Woman trailers yesterday it was looking as though Warner Bros. and DC had dominated this year's Comic-Con in San Diego. However, last night Marvel Studios overwhelmed fans and audience members with a plethora of trailers, posters, casting announcements and a whole new logo (pictured above) with accompanying fanfare (included below), which will undoubtedly be seen this November when Doctor Strange hits theaters.
Much like the old fanfare which used images from a vast library of comic book images the new fanfare uses footage from Marvel Studios' extensive catalog of movies and is much more fitting as the studio moves forward with its third phase of movies following the immense success of this spring's Captain America: Civil War.
In addition to the Spiderman: Homecoming, Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel revelations Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige also showed those lucky enough to attend SDCC's Hall H panel last night with the first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as well as revelations from the directors and casts from Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarok.
On the latter, concept art was revealed showing that Mark Ruffalo's Hulk will indeed be participating in some "Planet Hulk" gladiatorial combat as speculated. Additionally a short was shown revealing to fans what Chris Hemsworth's Thor was doing during the events of Captain America: Civil War. A new logo was also revealed for Thor Ragnarok.
This is on top of the news that Ghost Rider is set to appear in Marvel's agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., with other news that Iron Fist will soon be getting a TV serial and that the ensemble Marvel TV superhero team The Defenders is also in development.
