British drama and comedy actor Martin freeman, best known for his roles as John Watson opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in the British TV serial Sherlock, and as the young Bilbo Baggins in the Hobbit trilogy, was known to have been cast in this May's Captain America: Civil War for quite some time, but now thanks to CBR we know that Freeman will be portraying the character of Everett Ross.
In the Marvel comics that follow the adventures of the Black Panther the character of Everett Ross is a partner to T'Challa aka the Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman. Ross is a US Government liaison to both T'Challa and Wakanda, whom frequently works with the Black Panther. Creator Christopher Preist based the character on the character of Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) from the hit US TV sitcom Friends.
