As filming continues for Pacific Rim: Uprising, more and more news has been trickling out to the fans. With the pieces of this massive Kaiju vs Jaeger puzzle beginning to fall into place, it comes as no surprise to see a brand new announcement come out regarding one of any film’s key components: the music.
In 2013, Iron Man and Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi provided an epic, thundering score to the original Pacific Rim. We now have confirmation that, while Djawadi will not be returning, his successor will be no less of a powerhouse musician.
Taking over the scoring on Pacific Rim: Uprising will be Daredevil and Maze Runner composer John Paesano, whom previously worked with the sequel’s director, Steven S. DeKnight, on the former show. The Netflix Original superhero smash hit features an epic and often moody score that was highly praised upon the show’s release. It seems that DeKnight is hoping Paesano will repeat that success, but this time with superheroes large enough to use a boat as a baseball bat!
Are you excited to hear that Paesano’s will be taking on Pacific Rim: Uprising? Do you believe he will be a suitable replacement for Ramin Djawadi? Let us know in the comments section below, and be sure to check back often for more news on the Pacific Rim sequel as it drops!
