In the infamous Conjuring sequel, The Conjuring 2, the film's antagonistic Demon known as VALAK was originally going to appear as a winged black Demon with long horns instead of the creepy Demonic Nun which featured in the film. James Wan recently took to Instagram to debut footage of the once-was Valak suit, created by Justin Raleigh and the team at Fractured FX.
The reason for ditching the Demon and going with the Nun? Wan says this design for Valak seemed "out of place within the Conjuring world" they had created. As a result, the Winged/Horned Valak (below) was scrapped in post-production and replaced with the Demonic Nun.
