So with the recent release of Smash Bros 3DS there has been alot of talk about the game. and one of the most popular subjects is if Little Mac the main protagonist of Punch Out is to overpowered for the game and if he needs a nerf.
I happen to own a copy of the 3DS version of Smash Bros and from what i see, Mac isnt overpowered compared to other characters.
Mac's strength focuses on his punches and fast reflexes, those Punches can do tons of damage to your opponent if he is say not good at dodging. But if you are playing an expert who is very good at dodging and grabbing, Mac is in trouble.
I fought a level 9 Mario on my Smash copy with Little Mac and all it would do was throw me and use a charge attack when i tried to recover, rinse and repeat. So there it is, Mac is not a good character for airborne fighting, he has very slow recovery times giving you! His opponent lots of time to lay in a punch.
Now Mac is by know means an easy fighter, his fast punches and great reflexes can make fighting him extremely tiring and by the end have your Nintendo 3DS soaked in sweat, but if you can learn around his technique and figure out the pattern the guy playing him is using, you should be able to win.
So in the end, atleast i dont think Little Mac needs a nerf, he has great reflexes and strength which is the only way he can even combat greater opponents in the game.
