Last night during The Walking Dead Season 6 finale, a new TV-Spot trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence dropped! While only 30 seconds long, new footage of Dr. Okun (crazy Area 51 doctor who we thought died?) returns and explains how the captive aliens are not screaming...but "celebrating". If you recall from Independence Day, Dr. Okun is used to communicate between the captured alien by Cpt. Steven Hiller and President Whitmore. And by the end of the scene, it didn't look like things were going well for Dr. Okun...

So, how does this loop back to President Whitmore? Well we know he had visions of the alien civilization when he was under that alien hypnosis. Also, after the war, President Whitmore became a secluded member of society, retreating to his house in Virginia. His nightmares, and PTSD from the events in 1996 could factor into his actions seen in this newest trailer. Whitmore essentially locks himself in a medical bay to be taken over by the alien prisoner so he can communicate between his daughter and the alien. Seems pretty suicidal to me...essentially after the medical bay scene in the first film...
