Director Roland Emmerich and crew are currently filming scenes for the highly anticipated Independence Day sequel in Albuquerque, New Mexico and over 20 elderly locals have been cast as extras, some of which are well into their 80s and 90s! According to the news report by Koat7 News of ABC, the extras aren't aware of what they'll be doing in their scenes, whether it be running and screaming or something else, but regardless everyone seems to be excited to be a part of such a high profile summer blockbuster! The news report also reffers to Independence Day 2 as being called "Independence Day: Forever Part 1", however up until this point that title was unconfirmed and merely a rumor. Whether or not this is the official title of the ID4 sequel has yet to be confirmed by 20th Century Fox, Roland Emmerich or any other reputable sources involved with the film's production.
The extras will star alongside the likes of Jeff Goldblum, Brent Spiner, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica Fox, as well as newcomers to the franchise, Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Joey King and Travis Tope.
