Heart of Darkness is a complete Cinematic Scenario for the ALIEN roleplaying game.
What is a Cinematic Scenario?
The best way I can explain it is that it's like playing out the scenes in an Alien film, you are given a character/role to play. You have a particular crew member you get along with and another who can be viewed as your mortal enemy. That coupled with your own flaws or secret agendas, the way the scenario unfolds is different every time. Depending on who is running the game as Game Mother(a.k.a GM) will also affect the way the game is experienced and played. Now you can make all the correct decisions people don't make in the films, let's see how long you last.
It is a stand-alone adventure but also serves as a conclusion to the Draconis Strain Saga begun in the cinematic scenario Chariot of the Gods which came with the first core book and then continued in the second expansion Destroyer of Worlds.
You can play with 3–5 friends plus the Game Mother, and is described as a spiralling descent into soul-crushing madness.
