Fans of Star Wars and fans of Harrison Ford will know that the legendary American actor didn't much like the chracter of Han Solo. Ford's resentment towards his first big screen persona probably started back in 1976 while filming Star Wars in Pinewood Studios, London and rcomplaining to creator and director George Lucas about his overly complex lines. By the time Return of the Jedi was released Ford was visibly glad to leave the chracter behind for good, even leaving talk show studios as soon as his interview segment was complete. Ford has since become the recognised face for other popular movie franchises with his roles as Indiana Jones, Jack Ryan and Rick Dekard. Despite his success and the immense success of the Star Wars saga Ford, even as late as 2010 still seemed to hold some sort of humbrage with his breakthrough role.
Thankfully in 2012 Ford announced that he was open to reprising his role of Han Solo in this years Star Wars: The Force Awakens after reading J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan's script. Recently Ford played homage to his troubled past with franchise and his character on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, broadcast on the US TV Network ABC. Speaking this morning on the US TV breakfast news show Good Morning America (via Mashable) Ford revealed that he had seen the film and liked it, his comments seemingly suggesting he had finally buried the hatchet with Han Solo...
“It was great. It’s a wonderful movie, it’s got great production values. It’s a real big movie and I was delighted to see it.”
"Han Solo has a more complex story...a little bit more of an emotional context than perhaps there was before.”
"The film had a really good script, the opportunity to work with J.J. [Abrams], who I’ve admired, and it just seemed like a good idea,”
