We here at Scified and Scified Dark are proud to bring you news of the new science fiction horror movie 'Being', which is currently in production starring science fiction legend Lance Henriksen, former RoboCop Robert Burke and Brian Foyster, whom recently starred alongside Val Kilmer and Gabriel Byrne in the acclaimed independent movie 2:22. Directed by Douglas C. Williams Being stars Henriksen as Reverend Campbell, a devout preist and Robert Burke as his son and the local Sherriff. Over the course of a single night in a quiet Amercan mountain town both father and son must struggle to survive as the presence of a mysterious being causes the quiet towns residents to turn on each other as they begin to question the foundations of their beliefs.
The movies premise and setting reminds us of the Robert E. Howard (creator of Conan the Barbarian) short story 'The Thing On The Roof', that can be found in the collections 'The Dark Man and Others' and 'The Dead Remember', while at the same time Being also reminds us of the Dean Koontz novel 'The Taking', with its mysterious inhuman visitor being used as a catalyst to explore the dark sides of the human condition.
Being is being produced by Three Feet From Gold Productions, an independent film production company that hopes to release this thought provoking science fiction horror movie with the assistance of fans through the crowd-funding platform Kickstarter. The production team hope to raise a minimum of $55,000 before 26th June, offering fans that invest in the movie incentives and imited edition swag from free T-Shirts and posters, up to and including executive producer billing on the movies opening credits.
