Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange will appear in Thor: Ragnarok, as confirmed by the Official Disney Fan Club website DS3. Whilst they didn't go into much detail about his role in the film, they did say the following:
“Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new.”
Seeing as Doctor Strange was a huge hit, grossing $657,813,341 worldwide, it comes as no surprise that Marvel and Disney want to continue using the Sorcerer Supreme in their movies. It's also going to be interesting to see how his particular brand of old school magic will blend with the more high tech Asgardian version of the supernatural.
Thor: Ragnarok also stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, with Cate Blanchett, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba rounding off the supporting cast. Directed by Taika Waititi, it's set to be released on November 3. Doctor Strange is also set to appear in the Avengers: Infinity War duology, which enters production this month.
