The character, played by British Actor Tom Holland will first appear in next years Captain America: Civil War alongside most of the existing cast of the MCU, which will be driected by the Russo Brothers. In the big screen adaptation of the massively popular Civil War storyline from the comics Spider-Man is expected to side with the pro-registration team headed by Tony Stark, whom is also expected to create the web slingers famous Red and Blue costume. Spider-Man will then return to our screens in his first solo movie set within the MCU on July 28th, 2017.
Directed by Jon Watts the film is expected to show the wall crawlers early days as a crime fighter in New York City, which will no doubt see him cross paths with oneofthe characters well known villains. The antagonist of which Spider-Man will face has yet to be announced. Speaking recently with Empire, director Watts talked about the project, revealing Peter Parkers on-screen age...
"There are only so many times you can kill Uncle Ben. I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high-school movie. We’re really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. He’s just 15 now."
"Tom was pretty perfect. He’s very athletic. He can actually do a backflip! If he didn’t already capture the spirit of the character, with that on top the kid is Spider-Man."
