In the early 90's Dark Horse Comics dominated the comic book market with their comic book adaptations of Aliens, Predator, RoboCop and Terminator. The American comic book publisher enjoyed great sucess when they crossed over the franchises forever changing science fiction fandom with the birth of Aliens versus Predator and RoboCop versus Terminator, as well as the many other crossover titles that followed, pitting these Hollywood science fiction giants against the likes of Batman, Superman and even Judge Dredd.
With the birth ofthe millenium, digital entertainment and the widespread availability of the internet comic books suffered greatly, with even giants such as DC and Marvel struggling to adapt to the new digital market, but with the immense success of Marvel Studios MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) comic books, be they dgital or practical, are once again popular, as Dark Horse proved recently with the release of its new series of Aliens and Predator comics, which added the Prometheus Engineers into the crossover.
Keen to continue their success while expanding their library of science fiction licenses Dark Horse Comics have announced a new series of graphic novels to be setwithin the Halo universe. This anthology, called Halo: Tales from Slipspace, will feature all-new stories from some of the comic book industry’s best — including Jonathan Wayshak, Eric Nguyen, Alex Irvine, Kody Chamberlain, Dave Crosland, John Jackson Miller, Jonathan Goff, Simon Roy, and Halo: Escalation writer Duffy Boudreau. Franchise Creative Director Frank O’Connor and Franchise Producer Tyler Jeffers from 343 Industries, the new company responsible for developing Halo games, will also lend their assistance to the graphic novels.
Halo: Tales from Slipspace will be released 12 October 2016 in all good comic book stockists!
