The fifth episode of The Book of Boba Fett aired today on Disney Plus and did it ever pluck at our nostalgia heart strings! Without giving too much away, this latest chapter of the Boba Fett series saw the return of Mando, the star of The Mandalorian series as he finds his way back to Tatooine. The previous chapter alluded to Boba Fett needing to hire some extra muscle to defend his operation - Mando being a prime candidate.
Upon returning to Tatooine, Mando is presented with a new ship since his last one was destroyed. Fans of the prequel trilogy were in for a serious treat when the tarp came off his new ship, revealing it to be none other than a decommissioned N-1 Starfighter, the iconic yellow and silver single-occupant Starfighter which were hand made for the Queen of Naboo and her fleet.
Upon rebuilding the Starfighter, Mando added a few upgrades, making the ship even faster and packed with more firepower than before. We were also hit with a second dose of nostalgia when Mando takes his new Starfighter for a test drive and revisits the famous Podracing track from The Phantom Menace. We also got to see Star Wars eras collide when Mando gets pulled over by a couple of X-Wing patrol units.
Although the fifth episode of The Book of Boba Fett was completely absent of any Boba Fett screentime, it more than made up for it with the amount of callbacks and nods to the prequel trilogy. The new look of Mando's ship is also a welcomed refresher and we can't wait to see what he does with it!
