Hot off the heels of the new posters, the Official Power Rangers Movie Twitter announced that Saturday Night Live veteran Bill Hader will step into the iconic role of Alpha 5 for Lionsgate's Power Rangers. Although it's likely he'll merely be voicing the character, no word was given on the extent of his performance. Hader joins Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks as one of the larger names in the film.
Hader's inclusion seems to point to a rather comical Alpha 5 for this iteration. Although Alpha 5 has always been portrayed as a fairly light character, Hader's brand of humor seems suggests Alpha could be the straight up comic relief--Or who knows. He surprise us with something less over-the-top.
What do you think of Hader's casting? Do you think he'll be regulated to Alpha's voice? Will we get to hear Alpha's catch phrase, "Aye-yi-yi-yi-yi?" Sound off below.
