Last month rumors started to circulate that Lucasfilm and Disney had there eye on Puerto Rican actor and star of the Guardias of the Galaxy Benicio del Toro to join the cast of director Rian Johnsons Star Wars Episode VIII in the possible role as one of, if not the primary villain. ETOnline caught up with the actor at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Grants Banquet recently and where lucky enough to get some confirmation from the actor that he is indeed in the running to join the cast...
"I can’t tell you much about it but I think that it might happen. It looks like it’s gonna happen so I’m very excited. I can’t talk too much about it. The script is hard to get. They told me they’d cut my finger if I talk about it."

Del Toro can next be seen alongside co-stars Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and Victor Garber in the universally acclaimed crime thriller Sicario directed by Denis Villeneuve and due for release September 25th.
