The Batmobile has long been an iconic companion to the Dark Detective, and to many fans a more preferrable companion than the elfish, pantomine-esque, teenage variant known as Robin. Originally intended as just a bat themed means to traverse long distances, modern depictions of the Batmobile have welded the legendary automobile into an extension of the Caped Crusaders gadget filled utility belt, usually stocking it with its own arsenal of gadgets, weaponry and amazing abilities.
