(A picture of Lea Seydoux) Earlier this year we reported on a rumor that Léa Seydoux was in the running to be the next bond girl. Daily Mail is reporting that this rumor is fact, and that she has recently been cast as a 'femme fatale' in Bond 24. They report that she will join her fellow cast members for a rehearsal in late november. They also report that along with the other actors, she will undergo camera, makeup and wardrobe tests to determine how she should appear within the film. This gives us plenty to work with in terms of analysis.
First, the designation as 'femme fatale' may indicate that she is working for or associated with the enemy that James Bond will be facing in this movie. This sort of femme fatale was seen in 'Skyfall'. Or she might end up being a henchwoman such as in 'Goldeneye' or even being the main villain as seen in 'The World is not enough'. The possibilities for her casting with this designation are endless, although it would seem to indicate that Bond may find it not easy to trust her at the least.
This is not her first time in a spy movie, as she was also cast in 'Mission Impossible:Ghost Protocol'. It should be noted in that movie she played a villainous role as well. However, her casting and role in 'Blue is the warmest color' indicates that she is quite capable of seducing Bond with ease in her role as 'Femme Fatale. She may end up being one of the most cunning and clever Femme Fatales yet if her past roles are any indication of how she may play
. Bond 24 will be the fourth film for Daniel Craig in his role as James Bond. Previously having been in 'Casino Royale', 'Quantum of Solace', and most Recently, 'Skyfall'. Sam Mendes is confirmed to be returning to direct as well. The release date for Bond 24 is November 6, 2015 in the United States, and as of yet, it lacks a formal title.
